Stuck in the early 00s

So much potential to complement a great dive experience with a solid digital experience and accompanying app. A dive log should be simple and how great would it be to have dive instructors be able to digitally “sign” a log book these days, letting dive computer data live along side certification Info. Alas, this app is slow, unreliable, requires signing on to a secondary (!?) “ScubaEarth” account and does not function at all without an internet connection- making it useless when in many dive spots. Even with a great internet connection it cannot find known dive shops without going through a full browser interface instead of the clunky app (which, itself, is a poorly rendered version of the web experience vs a well designed and dedicated tool). With the iPhone celebrating 10 years, its past due to say PADI has had time to get this right. Zero focus here.

Unfortunate execution of a good idea

Snake Eyes 1

I had a lot of hope for this application and the PADI Scuba Earth website, but unfortunately as many have noted in the reviews, the execution remains flawed and cumbersome. Instead of making logging a dive easier than a log book, they have actually made it more difficult. You would also think that when you dive with a "Buddy" in the system the log would show up on their page, it does not, your buddy must also log the dive. Again, the digital world is supposed to make thing easier, more seem less, but this app and website fall way short of that. I hope PADI can find a good way ahead in these applications.

Potential but still needs work

This app misses the mark. Cannot change the password (they send you a password that a toddler can figure out); must logon with name and pw each time the app is opened with no option to save the info in keychain or to use a fingerprint; not much help in the settings (can use a tutorial); weblinks to PADI sites are not mobile user friendly and are confusing- this is a website developer issue. For the price of paying for replacment cards and eCards, you'd think I would have a 5 star experience! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is that is has potential.
