Unfortunate execution of a good idea
I had a lot of hope for this application and the PADI Scuba Earth website, but unfortunately as many have noted in the reviews, the execution remains flawed and cumbersome. Instead of making logging a dive easier than a log book, they have actually made it more difficult. You would also think that when you dive with a "Buddy" in the system the log would show up on their page, it does not, your buddy must also log the dive. Again, the digital world is supposed to make thing easier, more seem less, but this app and website fall way short of that. I hope PADI can find a good way ahead in these applications.
Potential but still needs work
This app misses the mark. Cannot change the password (they send you a password that a toddler can figure out); must logon with name and pw each time the app is opened with no option to save the info in keychain or to use a fingerprint; not much help in the settings (can use a tutorial); weblinks to PADI sites are not mobile user friendly and are confusing- this is a website developer issue. For the price of paying for replacment cards and eCards, you'd think I would have a 5 star experience! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is that is has potential.
Still needs work
I downloaded app in May 2017. Good idea but software remains flawed. When I edited my home address during the credit card purchase of an eCard, and pressed Save, it processed the information but then showed me living at an address in Japan rather than the USA. Also noticed that only my most recent certification for Enhanced Air Mixture appeared but not Advanced Open Diver. Called PADI and found their system showed my correct, edited address which was good. The representative explained that a separate eCard must be purchased (one time payment) for each certification. That was. It clear from the FAQs, and makes the whole deal pretty expensive for divers with multiple certifications.
