Seems like a Beta––lots of room for improvement

This app has never satisfied me fully. I use it with my iPad Air and an Apple Aluminum keyboard, the Bluetooth kind. There's an annoying way it drops, quits the app altogether, when I type [command-I] to switch out of italics after using italics in my typing. If I do that reversion quickly the app will simply drop, and then I'll have to break the stride of my typing and restart the app and pick up where I left off. Very annoying.

Now in iOS 10 that problem seems to be even more pronounced. Besides that, now in 10, the key combo [command-backspace] when used to delete a whole word at a time comes with a built-in delay: there's a pause of several seconds while the app carries out its command––and if that command is repeated so as to delete a few words going backwards through the typed text, that delay is present for each word. The effect of that is that the cursor disappears for long seconds and then one-by-one the words drop out, but each only after that long pause. Again, very annoying indeed. I'm hoping that sooner or later someone will address these issues. In the meantime I can say it like it is here in a review and hope that it'll be noticed by the powers that be.

Some good, some bad

Generally speaking I like Pages. I have it on my MBP, iPad and iPhone. It's easy to work with for the most part. What I don't like is that I can't re-lock a document on iPad, or my phone, after I unlock it. Certain documents that I want access to on all my devices I can only lock on my MBP. Security is a big thing with me! If there was a way to secure documents on my phone and iPad other than locking both devices it would easily rate 5 stars with me. It's pretty near perfect on the MBP for my purposes. Since iOS 10 was released and I downloaded it Pages locks up every time I try to use it. It has become totally unusable for me. When it's fixed I'll give it another review, but until then it's definitely 1 star and should be no stars.
Whatever had caused my problem has cleared up and it's working great. They contacted me, but the problem had apparently resolved itself. As promised I'm now updating my review. Thanks for your efforts to help me. That alone would have gotten another star.

Keyboarded like molasses

The keyboard sticks repeatedly, the cursor is very slow to respond, and somehow the keyboard keeps clicking over to the numbers section while I'm typing words - even though I haven't hit the button. Trust me, I've tested it a thousand times already. How can the company who makes the software AND hardware not be able to create seamless cohesion between their own platform of products? Oh, right - because they don't care about quality, just the green. Jobs may have been a soul suker but at least he got the job done. Under Cook the recipe just gets worse and worse and worse and worse and worse and worse. I just don't understand why everyone on this planet is so content to screw each other over at the drop of a dime and then sit back and wonder why the human race is so jaded and angry and selfish. I wish I could say I'm gonna leave the rotten apples in the dumpster but where else is there to go? Eventually it'll bite them in the caboose. But who wants to wait for that when they could just test their products instead of sending millions of people pre-broken products on a weekly basis? I don't. :(
