What good is an app if it won’t allow you to log into your account
Had you asked me several weeks ago, I would have sung the praises of this app. I have been using it through its many iterations for several years. Today I wanted to log into my account and order a meal as I had done countless times before from the same phone I had always used. Suddenly today it refused to allow me to log into my account saying something like”Hmm. Something isn’t right. Check your information and try again.” The problem is that my information was correct; it just didn’t allow me to use it to log in. So I changed my password and tried again using the new password. No go. At this point I was very annoyed, drove there, and ordered at the counter. When I got home I was able to log into their website online using my correct email and password from my phone. BUT using the exact same information on the same phone from the app will not work. Why bother with the app? The app is supposed to make ordering easier... but that is the exact opposite of easier as I ended up spending 30 minutes or more trying to get the thing to work before finally getting exasperated and giving up. Frankly if they don’t get this fixed they will probably lose a lot of my business as I will probably go with a company who makes ordering and pickup easier, not exasperating.
Rapid pick up great...when accurate
First, rapid pick up is an excellent concept. Love it, I’m busy and hate waiting so appreciate it very much. However my meal has been incorrect at least 4 times that I can think of using rapid pickup. This is a problem because now I’ve left the restaurant with the wrong order and don’t discover the mistake until I’ve served at my destination. Today I got the Greek goddess salad, I had selected to add Gorgonzola cheese, and it is not on the salad. I paid extra for the cheese I’m sure, and it is on the receipt but not on my salad.
Another visit I ordered the Napa almond chicken salad sandwich. They gave me a turkey sandwich!!! I was NOT happy. So much so that I called the restaurant to complain and wanted my money back. The manager said she could not give my money back but next time I’m in find her and I’ll get a free sandwich. Great. But not a solution to my wrong meal!!
Overall love rapid pick up. I do peak inside the bag now to see if the food looks approximately correct, without undoing all the wrapping. But panera needs to work on quality control. I always see someone at the counter checking the food. But not sure how well they are checking!!!!!
Panera Bread should take a page from Chick-Fil-A with their customer appreciation for using their app. There is a limit to how many times you earn “points/visits” when patronizing Panera Bread. I made a visit once a day for days only to have their system tell me I have reached my limit for inputting receipt information. Each visit I spent over $23, and to have my visits refused is a slap in the face honestly. My husband banned me from going back spending any money with Panera. Not only is it a bit pricey, but he felt insulted and I was embarrassed bc I had been bragging about this being one of the few places around us for healthy-ish food. Chick-Fil-A allows points each visit. If I went 3xs a day for 5 days I got points on points which add up, even when you redeem them for food. Chick-Fil-A also allow you to purchase the entire menu (eventually), no limits on what they give unlike MOST apps. Which makes me go to Chick-Fil-A more often than I normally would. Panera Bread I know I’m just one person, but I normally spent $23-$30 at least each visit, never again! Also, for your other customers you should think about doing a scan instead of number input. I hated having your employees grabbing my phone from my hand to input a number instead of using a quick scan and moving on.
