Incredible! Great for split-grade printing.
I purchased this app after viewing the developer’s videos. I do already use a 4x5 enlarger, but this app looked like a quick and easy way to try split-grade printing with green/blue (additive) light on multi-contrast papers. I installed the app on my iPhone 8 (which, I found, fits nicely on top of the below-lens filter holder of my enlarger) and immediately set about making some 4x5 contact prints. The results are simply amazing. The app allows you to precisely dial in the color and intensity of two different “lights,” which the phone (or iPad) emits to the paper. Darkroom mode, touchscreen trigger, and exposure delay settings make the app customizable to your workflow. I used the app to make four different split-grade 4x5 contact prints and the results are as good, if not better, than prints I made using Ilford contrast filters. The best part: you don’t need an enlarger to make contact prints or enlargements using this app. Watch the developer’s videos for demonstrations and more info.
