Great app but seems to crash a lot on new iPad Pro

I've been using and LOVING this app ever since it came out (as well as the Pencil 53 stylus). I was really excited when the new and bigger IPad Pro came out. However, this app does seem to crash A LOT on the new iPad. I guess the Paper 53 developers need to work on bug fixes to address this, and in all fairness, that is to be expected given the changes due to iOS upgrade. That being said, unless you constantly save every 20 minutes (and I do this by making a duplicate and saving to another "space" within the app), you are out of luck and will lose everything for the particular drawing. Very frustrating, especially if you have already invested a couple of hours into something. I have found that keeping the iPad charger plugged in helps, but that takes away from the times when you are out and about and can't be tethered. Another upgrade to the app would be to allow for a bigger canvas. Right now you are limited to the device screen size. Yes, the zoom tool allows you to start as small as necessary, but sometimes you realize well into working on something that you started out too big, and now there is no leeway to extend it in any direction. Other than these two issues I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Misses the mark.

The problem with this app is not that it has been updated, changed, and expanded radically for v3. FiftyThree has constantly added features to Paper, and they consistently received an enthusiastic positive response from their users. The problem with this version is all about the confusion in purpose. The best and most fully-developed tools in Paper are the art tools, but those have taken a back seat to the productivity and presentation tools, which are still obviously works in progress. They are still finding their way out of the "slideshow presentation" mentality of PowerPoint and office meetings, where images, hand-drawn graphs, and small snippets of text are the presumed format. In the meantime, despite requiring you to provide and email address and sign up for an account in order to backup your work, there is no way to sync between devices, and no place to land your notes on your Mac, unless you have a Microsoft account and use OneNote.

This app just doesn't know what it is for, other than monetizing your note-taking habits. It used to be a brilliant sketchbook/notebook app. Now it is just a mess. The amazing drawing tools are now set in an environment with too many issues. Not recommended. One star, to compensate for my many five-star reviews of past versions.

Wish I could give a negative rating

I honestly don't get why they even have a sharing platform, it's not social media. It WAS a great drawing and notebook app, but now all that creativity is gone. All Fiftythree wants is money, five star reviews, and to spread their now-useless app to iPhone so they can get more money. I thought this was a productivity app, but ever since Fiftythree brought Paper to the iPhone, it's been maximizing the number of gestures you need to do a simple task. Also, it randomly just disabled by Mix, and it shared all my ideas. Now all I get is the annoying "service unavailable" pop up when I try to go on and delete my ideas. I can't, though, because I can access the sharing platform, nor can I unshared my ideas through the settings, because when I click settings, then account, all it shows is the backup and restore option, nothing about my profile, where I can delete my shared ideas, which I would like to keep private, not visible to the entire world. DO NOT TRUST THIS APP!

UPDATE: I can't even delete my account. Plus, I forgot to mention how annoying the new gestures are. You used to be able to accurately paint with the zoom loupe, but now I have to paint a large object without zoom, which makes it really hard to paint inside the lines in one go.
