A few big problems

I've used Paper exclusively since it came out. I loved the interface so much more than the standard Facebook app. I had some problems but thought I'd give them some time to iron out the wrinkles.

For one, I can't edit posts. Nothing like realizing I misspelled something and then realizing I have no way to correct it, short of opening the standard app.

Second, I get notifications constantly asking if I know people. "Do you know Sally Smith?" Why, because we have one mutual friend? The other day I was asked if I knew someone that had the same name as one of my friends, but I shared no friends with this person. So they're just basing it on names. And even though I have notifications turned off, I get notifications that random people have added pictures, or updated their status. This can't be turned off. It doesn't do it on the web or the standard fb app.

Third, I don't like that when I open an article, the slightest downward swipe closes the post. This means if I want to scroll up to re-read something, I'm screwed. I like that they're making everything swipe-based, but they need to ease up on the touchiness. And let me scroll up without closing stuff.

These three things, which they evidently aren't going to fix, are causing me to go back to the boring old Facebook app.

Most recent Update's bugs

There's been a lot of updates to Paper that have improved the previous experience. I use Paper so much more than the default Facebook app, that I often tend to delete Facebook. With that said, there are minor updates needed, which still causes me to download the original Facebook app in order to do. Such tweaks include the ability to edit the content in a post / comment after it has already been submitted. Another feature is the ability to include what you are feeling / doing in a new post. Although it's not perfect, I still feel this app is much better than the default app, which I believe still warrants a 5 star rating.

Great app, needs finishing touches

I use paper every day for news and Facebook. I love it. That being said, there are a lot of little changes that would make this app a lot better. Below are what I consider the three biggest issues for the app.
Firstly, reading at night is painful because of the all white background, even on my phones lowest brightness setting. Secondly, the easy swipe down method to close pages can impair scrolling on an open web page. Additionally the sections feature is great, but there is no ability to narrow the topic you want to read about.
Paper is a real replacement for a newspaper, but these developments would take it to the next level and warrant a five star review.
