Pays lots...not much results

I used this app when it was free and it was great. So in order to get my mom off mailing lists, I downloaded it again. I paid for 2 months and submitted over 100 requests to be taken off of mailing lists. Now, months later, long after I’ve stopped paying, the mail comes in and it looks surprisingly similar to what I had requested to be removed from. Is this their fault? I’m not sure. But if they promise to take you off a mailing list and you’re still on it, have they made good on what they promised? I’m going to say no. I’d say it worked about 25% of the time. Their recognition software is also not great, it NEVER found the correct logo for me, but sometimes did in the secondary option. Don’t waste your money. Make some phone calls and get off the mailing list. That’s what I’m doing now...

Scam? Possible - hasn’t stopped any junk mail

I was excited to use this app and eagerly scanned junk mail. They collected my personal information (name, address), which made sense for this situation. However, I was only able to “unsubscribe” from 4 pieces of junk mail without paying. Jump to several months later and I’m STILL receiving junk mail from the places I used Paper Karma for AND I’m getting more junk mail than ever before. The increase in junk mail might be a coincidence, but the failure to unsubscribe me in the first place is giving me serious doubts. IF they wanted to collect names and addresses to sell to companies to increase junk mail, this would be the perfect model to do it. Regardless, this app has proven worthless (possibly less than worthless because I’m worse off than when I started). Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

Hi there. Sorry to hear about your experience - if you would contact us at we'll happily look into your specific requests and see if there is anything more we can do to help you stop these mailers. Rest assured, we do NOT rent out your information to anyone. The whole point of our service is to stop unwanted solicitations.

Regarding your increase in junk mail, first look at charities that are allowed by law to sell your info once you donate. Secondly, we'd love to earn back your trust. Please do reach out to us. We believe we can help.

Not effective, by design

This developer may very well send a desist request to junk mailers on your behalf, but what they hope you don’t know is that those mailers are not legally obligated to honor a request by someone else on your behalf. They’ll take your money and perform a service, but be aware that their service could have literally no effect on the amount of junk mail you receive.
UPDATE: The developer response to this review does not manage to contradict this premise at all, but rather simply claims that they presume to leverage good “relationships” with some companies (although not all, with one “bad actor” being the US Postal Service itself). Further, customer reviews “point to” an efficacy rate markedly less than 90%.

Respuesta del desarrollador ,

Hi there. Our data, relationships with most mailers, and feedback loop from users point to a 90% success record. We make clear in our FAQs and ToS that there will be always be some bad actors, including the USPS with their EDDM product.
