Fun, but "expensive"
This game is fun in and of itself. It has a lot of the qualities I like about Paradise Cove. It's starts out great and moving fast. That being said, as you continue (and not very far in at that) the internal costs of achieving goals is insane. It's very difficult to build up adequate funds to play the game with any satisfying speed. Because of the limited building potential because of the gold prices in the game which then don't earn you much of anything, you end up waiting around to build your stash of gold so you can build one building that gives you next to nothing. I found it impossible to finish the limited time quests around Christmas time because I couldn't earn gold fast enough. As others mentioned, holly berries and candy canes are in very limited supply so you either wait around forever hoping to get one or you pay real money for it which is ridiculous. You get one holly berry for every new level you gain, but when you need no less than 9 berries, it takes forever. I've never earned holly berries on animal searches. I think it's set up so you never will. Building upgrades are super expensive, boats don't bring back many candy canes, and more boats for gathering them are either controlled by game level or way too expensive (or charge berries which as mentioned are in very limited supply). Right now, there are still goal for me to play but it takes weeks (or more) to reach each one because materials are in such short supply.
Greedy developers need to reevaluate.
I spent $15 in 2 months, it requires $10 a month to keep it fun & not get stalled after 1st month. If game was $1-2 a month it'd be well worth it. Today I used under 3 million coins for 45 minutes to spin almost 700 times in a row, but NO BERRYS.(Boring) Takes a week to save enough coin for that so don't buy land, ships, houses, hotels or going on Voyages while you save. I tried for berries several times and used almost 10,000,000 in coins trying to spin for berries in level 14 over the past few weeks. NEVER GOT ANY. Another problem, I put the cow(5 only needed 1)in Paradise Cove but never got my tiki bar. I'm good at the game, I'm top 10 in merchants, received 73 of the 115 achievements and top 45 in Pirates(I'd rather give money to orphans and charities in the game than fight Pirate ships) I'll be 50 years old this year, but I love Christmas. I advise you avoid game unless the $100 needed to complete play is not an issue for you to enjoy game. Or wait for a Berry sale maybe you'll get away with $50 for the game. Spin as much as you can in level 6, don't cutdown trees or you'll level-up and spins will cost more.
I like Holiday and Paradise Cove games! But i have an issue with land expansion. I understand it costs more each level and thats fine, but it shouldnt fluctuate from 25,000 to 54,000 on the same level. Next, when i expand my land, and i have to pay almost all of the gold i have, i dont want to wait 4 hours to clear it, and then not have enough energy to even clear a quarter of the tiny patch of land i just paid 25,000 to 54,000 gold for. Rubies are extremely hard to obtain. That wouldnt be so much of a problem if the quests were not set up for a level far beyond the one i am currently on! I gave 5 stars because i like the game, but deal with these issues and the game will be more enjoyable for everyone! And by the way, i understand you are in it for the money, but in this economy, some of us cannot afford right now to spend the extra cash on games like this.
