Just Ok, but can be good with some changes
I don't know about the paid version but the free one just shows a decent concept with poor execution. There is no "introductory" period where the troopers parachuting down come down slowly and one at a time like one would expect there would be. The first time I played the game the first wave came and there were 4 guys dropping at almost the same time that I had to try to type all of the words for. I barely got one and a half done before the three that I didn't finish landed on the ground. This had a lot to do with the non-standard keyboard that the game utilizes that have letter keys that are much smaller than the regular iPhone keyboard and with the game's detection it showed that I hit a lot of wrong letters, causing my turret to get attacked by at least every other trooper, making my games end very quickly. I like the idea of trying to get faster at typing on my phone, but this game isn't going to help without some tweaks to even want me to play the game more than one or two rounds.
Crashes after a few minutes; nearly pornographic ads
Before ordering Mavis Beacon to help my kids learn to type, I thought I'd see what's available for the iPad.
This app crashes after just a minute or two of playing, and the ads are very intrusive, sometimes covering the whole screen (while the game continues in the background, which is very annoying).
Furthermore the ads are sometimes very inappropriate. An ad for Victorias Secret kept appearing, with a woman in an extremely revealing brassiere that was almost not there.
Looks like I'm going to gladly pay thirty-some bucks for Mavis Beacon.
Waste of time
Wish I would have read the review
The app keeps crashing can't get through one level with out the app crashing
Also can't use the program with your iPad in landscape mode so you aren't really getting the keyboard feel
