What's New in Version 2.1
• Sometimes deliveries can have more than one carrier (international postgage is a good example of that). Parcel will suggest you to switch to destination carrier once it has tracking data. This feature is not yet available for all carriers with the full support to be available soon.
• No need to click on refresh button anymore! Updates from other devices (new deliveries added, deletes, etc) are automatically pushed to the app within 20 seconds (requires premium subscription).
• Parcel account email can be changed in the app settings
• Find on map feature is now far more accurate for those carriers who provide geographic coordinates for their deliveries.
Dozens of small improvements and bug fixes that you really should not waste time reading about :)
AMAZING app. Exactly what I was looking for
I’ve never left a review for a single app in the seven years that I’ve owned an iPhone, but this app deserves one. It does exactly what I hoped it would do, and it does it nearly flawlessly. Once installed on your computer, there is a new menu option available when you right-click on a tracking number in an email or on a webpage: “ADD DELIVERY IN PARCEL”. If you choose that, the Parcel application then pops up and you create an entry for that tracking number. Then the app keeps track of all shipping updates for that tracking number. Simple as that. On the iphone, just highlight and copy the tracking number, and when you go to the Parcel app, it automatically creates a new entry for the number.
The only slight issue I’ve found is that every once in a while the app mis-identifies a tracking number as belonging to the wrong carrier. So for instance, I’ll add a USPS tracking number to the app, and the app thinks it’s a FedEx number and then can find no tracking info for that package. If that happens, just go in and manually change the carrier to the proper one. Takes 2 seconds. Then you’re all set.
This app, on my computer and on my iphone, lets me keep a constant eye on all my packages in one glance. Beautiful functionality and design.
Really nice tracking app
This app works really well. It is cross platform which is nice. I run it on my Mac, iPhone, & iPad and my wife does the same so we can both track the same packages. I’ve been using and paying for the yearly service now for a couple years. My only complaints are that it only allows 100 total shipments and the interface color isn’t all that pleasing to me personally. These aren’t really any big deal as you can always delete the old shipments, but some I like to keep as a record. So it would be nice if the shipments once they are delivered could be transferred to a database on the phone for archival storage. I understand them not wanting to keep the data in their servers and that make sense, but offload the data to our devices then we can keep it for as long as we want to keep it. And now that I’ve reviewd the app don’t bug me to review it again. Tired of apps that bug me for a review… But this app is one of the few apps I use all the time so it deserves a review.
Why did I not think of the fact that while I wait watching packages being shipped to me I can also use this amazing app to watch delivery times and dates for Christmas packages sent to relatives and friends. Now that I have finally woken up to using this for outgoing packages I am all set, and do NOT have to type in those USPS numbers every time I want to check where our packages are. Did my Mother in law get the box we sent her in Florida? Did they get the perishables we sent? (not that you are supposed to send any … oh no). Did the twins get their ray guns? Now I know, and you can too. Do not wait another second to get this app … it is simply put … superb! Happy Holidays, and special thanks to the creator of this wonderful app.
