Parcel - Delivery tracking
By Ivan Pavlov
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
If you are looking for the app to track shipments on iPhone or iPad - Parcel is the best choice for you.
With this application you can promptly access tracking information for 240 delivery services, including UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, TNT, LaserShip, Aramex, OnTrac, China Post, SingPost, vPost and many other postal services. Full list of supported couriers is available at: http://parcelapp.net/#services
Tracking data is collected on our server, so you will get it right to your device with a click of a button. You don't even need to enter the tracking number, barcode scanning is available on iPhone and iPad. With unique carrier automatic recognition function, adding new delivery is just a matter of seconds.
You can also locate your delivery on the map or manage your deliveries using Web Access (web.parcelapp.net) - easy and simple. Parcel has a native OS X app available for free in the Mac App Store.
Parcel utilizes the power of iOS 8 to provide you the best possible user experience. You can use Notification Center widget to see expected deliveries for today or tomorrow (when there is an estimated delivery date available).
Push notifications provided by Parcel are more convenient than from any other app. They are being sent only from 8am to 10 pm according to your timezone, so you will not be bothered at night (however, you can disable this option in the settings).
If you want to use push notifications or track more than 3 shipments at the same time - you can subscribe to the premium subscription right in the app for $1.99 per year.
If you have encountered a problem, please visit FAQ on app website or email firstname.lastname@example.org. (please include tracking no. and courier service).

My wife and I have been delighted at how well this app performs. Any comment about slow updates in other reviews is, I believe, misguided. UPS and FedEx update within mere minutes. USPS may take hours. This, combined with previous use of the absolutely horrible USPS app tells me the problem is there, not with Parcel. I wish Parcel's scanner was a little better, and a button that says "read it right now" as it sometimes just continues to go in and out of focus. It also sometimes needs a bit of help with who the shipper is, but here again I say that is likely the result of UPS and FedEx having USPS do the "last mile" portion of some items. Due to my view that most of these shortcomings are from from circumstances beyond the control of this app developer, I rate this app as 4.5-5.0. It is feature rich and hands down the best of its type I have ever used.
Good free functionality, but when I wanted to pay them...
Let me start by saying out of box it's good but slightly crippled. You can track three packages at a time and it syncs with other devices and works well.
That said, apparently after people earlier who upgraded for full access no limitations, they decided there stuff is sooo great you should really continue to pay for an app that probably has done every awesome thing it could (and kudos for that) and won't really go much beyond, essentially renting the app. Having an in-app purchase to enable the full features seems totally acceptable but to pay another time to continue using these features for an app you paid for is absurd. If it's not enough money all at once then raise it and I'd be glad to pay a little more to own the app finally but there's no heavy cloud service that justifies a subscription in my opinion.
This is a great way to track multiple packages especially if you get the premium version the the push alerts are amazing. However, I have found that occasionally there is a lag of up to several hours between a carrier's website and the app (other times it updates immediately and it has alerted me to a delivered package before the carrier). If they manage to fix the lag it will be a 5 star app. One suggestion I am among those that hate app subscriptions I would rather a one time app purchase than a yearly app purchase it gives me the feeling that you plan on raising your rates at some point (on the app developer's end it doesn't give the user any incentive to stay either).
