Pay for metered street parking in the city of Chicago with the ParkChicago app. It’s the easy and convenient way to pay for parking on-the-go without having to visit a pay box.
Look for the ParkChicago logo on street signs throughout the city to determine availability in your area.

It's very convenient but like everything else in this city- something nice comes at a cost. These people are making a ton of money with a $.35 charge every time you pay or extend. Then there is the $20 minimum refill amount- which is ridiculous. It should be $10 at the least. It's just a way for these scheming pigs to guarantee a good flow of money coming in. You don't need over $20 in parking credit and if you do- that's what the app is for so you can add more time. But having to buy at least $20 is parking credit when you dip below $10 is just a way to line the pockets of the parking pigs for guaranteed-automatic cash flow. Makes ripping off the general public more convenient. I'm giving it a low rating because the point of an app is to improve the human condition and solve problems. And while this app purports to do so, everyone can see these people nickel and dime the public to take advantage of a commodity. Shame on you. Can't wait for spothero to eventually come in and compete directly against LAZ and this app.
Parking apps are becoming relatively standard fare. I travel a lot and have parking apps for several cities. It is absolutely not standard to require a user to maintain a balance in their account at any time, let alone at all times. These apps are typically pay as you go, though some offer the optic of paying for services or maintaining a wallet - though since there is no rational advantage to having a wallet I don't know why anyone would. I understand that these apps are new to most people so some may have stars in their eyes and be wowed even by something this substandard, but there are far better versions in other cities. I'm really surprised that the Chicago app is so far behind the industry standard. Unfortunately I won't be using it - I'm only here a couple weeks a year so it makes no sense to leave money on my account. Particularly considering that this will surely, quickly be replaced by a more up to date version.
This app is terribly misleading. It does not allow me to use my full balance and then forces me to replenish the account unnecessarily. It is taking advantage of Chicagoans who need an app like this to keep up with the times and schedules. Shame on you!
Why not charge a one time fee for use of the app rather than forcing people to consistently replenish their account when there is $10 just sitting there unused? In attempting to pay $4 an hour for parking, I had to replenish my account for the 2.5 hours since the totally came out to be $10. Instead of just letting me use my account for the $10, it forced me to essentially spend $30 for the Parking even though the meter was only $10. Why make me add $20 to my account when I had more than enough money to cover the fee of the parking? A minimum of $10 in your account doesn't make sense...why can't I use my money?? Terrible and misleading! A convenience fee, I understand... But this is just awful.
