This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Quick guide to our iOS app
You can watch movies on your Apple device with iOS 9 and higher. Just download the app from iTunes.
Start a movie
In order to start a movie go to the detail page by clicking on the image. Then hit the play button.
You can fast forward and rewind the movie by either tapping on the progress bar or moving the point to the desired spot by holding it with your finger.
Change audio and subtitles
If the movie has different audio or subtitles a small menu in the upper left corner will appear. When you click on it you can make your selection.
Using the service abroad
At the moment, Passionflix is only available in the USA and some of our content will be restricted to certain countries depending on license rights. However our own produced Passionflix content will be available for our paying customers in 150 countries worldwide so you won’t miss out the latest addition while you are on holidays.
We will go live in more countries as our content grows.
More movies and series
We are producing more content as we speak and at the same time negotiating with studios to offer you more passionate movies.
Keep an eye out on our website, Facebook page and newsletter where we will inform you about upcoming releases.
Barometer of Naughtiness
We have categorized our movies and series by naughtiness level. So depending on your mood you can find fitting content to watch. Just change the level on our barometer and we will present you with content of that category.
Adding movies to a personal list
When you are browsing through our content on passionflix.com or the app you can add movies that you are interested in to a personal list. Just click on the movie to get to a detailed description. There you will find a plus button to add the movie to your list.
When you return to the start page you will see that we added for you a new section called “My list” for easy access to your marked movies.
Love the concept but want more features
I’m a Founding Member because of their original content and am thrilled with what’s being done. However, when it comes to the app there are features not currently available that I feel would dramatically enhance my experience. They are: subtitles on ALL movies, the app (and site) should keep track of where viewers previously stopped to resume from there, when stopping a movie it should go back to portrait mode if device is positioned so, rewind and skip-forward controls, the time should show with a tap of the screen while viewing a movie. As far as I can see, the only place to view ALL of the movies is from the BON after selecting ALL. I feel we should have a place on the home screen to do that with a few featured movies or most viewed this week and a See All link or something similar. All teasers, trailers, interviews, and BTS videos should NOT be included with movies but put in the Wine and Cheese Lounge.
It's still got its kinks
Even after beta testing, this app has a long way to go before it's fully functional.
Casting feature doesn't work yet. Trying to will only lock up my Chromecast and I can't cast from any other apps without rebooting it entirely.
Not all movies have English captions...which I think is a bummer for hard of hearing watchers.
The selection is still building up, but the search feature and categories are cumbersome. Navigation is not as intuitive nor is it as developed as other streaming services. It's okay considering it's still the first week.
The concept of all romance movies and shows being in one place is exciting and fresh. The originals will be the best part - reader favorites being turned to movies and series! I can't wait to see what's in store for the next two years with my prepaid membership.
**Update** Today is the release of the first original movie and the casting feature still does not work. Three weeks of waiting and just total disappointment when it comes to the functionality of the app. Down to two stars from three.
**Second update** Day two after original movie release and after updating to iOS 11, casting feature is a go! This is a huge deal in the way I’ll watch streaming content. Rating up to 4 stars!
A fabulous app. Still a few kinks, but being brand new, I was expecting a lot more! Love this and can't wait to see it grow!
