Pathology 2

This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.

Place path tiles smartly to stay alive while eliminating your opponents!
Pathology is a fun strategy game where the goal is to keep your token on the board, while trying to force your opponent's token(s) off the board. Pathology is easy to learn, quick to play, and each game is different from the last, providing a never-ending challenge.

The game starts with all the players' tokens along the edge of the board. The players then take turns placing tiles. The tiles have paths on them, and when placed, any tokens that are adjacent to the tile will advance along a path. You can rotate the tile to any orientation before you place it for maximum benefit.

You can play by yourself against up to 7 computer opponents, or up to 8 people can play at once by taking turns placing tiles. Or, any combination in between. Team up with a friend or two to eliminate the computers. Then, go completely cutthroat and emerge as the last one standing!

Play with up to 7 other friends online in a turn-based format. You can even mix in AI bots in your online games.

If you need to take a break, don't worry - Pathology remembers where everything is, and can keep an unlimited number of local saved games in progress.

All games provide a history of all player moves for you to review. In local games, you can undo back to any previous move.

Have Knots!

I came across Pathology 2 when it came up paired with a search I did to explore my interest in Tsuro (released in early February, 2016). I wound up purchasing both games. In my view, Pathology 2 (P2) is a nicer design, finely implemented. I like the way that P2 displays a larger, top-down view of the playing grid. The Tsuro graphics are true to the board game, but the cleaner graphics and vibrant colors of P2 against a more neutral background are a pleasure on the screen. P2 has an intuitive and more efficient interface. Tsuro displays annoying and repetitive little dialogue boxes for the AI opponents, with inane little comments that detract from the gameplay; whereas P2’s gameplay is only embellished with agreeable sound effects and music (that can be adjusted via settings). I have not played the Tsuro physical board game before, so my experience is only with the AI opponents of these two digital games (I use the highest ’tricky’ AI in Tsuro, whereas P2 only has one AI level). I expect it is a challenge to program AI for this type of game, and it seems to me that the AI in both games only offers a moderate (but still fun) challenge. I’ve written this review to give a little more info to customers who run across Pathology 2. I’m enjoying this game and you might find it preferable to Tsuro, too.

Excellent game!

I'm a huge fan of Tsuro, and this is an excellent version of that game (better than the clunky official app). Nice clean interface, good controls.

Not a huge fan of the overly cheerful look of it. Pathology 1 had a better look to it, but I guess they decided to move away from the dragon motif.

So much fun

A bit buggy, but such a fun app with nice extra features that I give it five stars. If you like the board game Tsuro, this is your app.
