AWESOME!!!

I don’t want to even think about life before PayPal ! I just wish I’d been the one to have thought of it & developed the program/app before the brilliant inventor did. It has every feature imaginable to make online transactions easy, seamless, & fast, unlike the old way, where invariably you would find an item online you decided to buy, yet you never had your wallet nearby. Then after finding your wallet, you had to take out every card, picture, & slip of paper you had crammed in such a small place, it seemed like the scene from Seinfeld where George’s wallet exploded from all the junk he had saved in it! PayPal eliminates all that plus having to “hunt” for your glasses to read the microscopic numbers on a credit/debit card & hope you got it right. Thank you PayPal, for helping young & old folks alike, pay for many of the items & services, we want or need to have, without the hassle described above. If I may be so bold to ask, please keep working to add new merchants, to accept your form of payment, & make our lives a little easier on something we all do at least once a day. And since you are privy to our most private of information, & keep ahead of the crooks who never cease at trying to steal our hard earned money.

Unfair chargeback policies

Service oriented businesses risk to lose revenue due to PayPal's unfair chargeback policies. A customer can pay and receive a service, then file a dispute and claim they never received it and will almost always get their money returned to them because PayPal provides you with little means to prove that you provide them with a service. Any funds will be automatically deducted from your account and you will be forced to pay a $20 fee for the chargeback. They will always side with the buyer even if they are committing fraud. This will leave your account negative. So essentially you are losing the service you provided and having to pay back any funds that you were owed. And NO, PayPal will not take into account the fact that fraud is being committed as they are more buyer oriented and less focused on providing protection for your business. Customer service reps are less than helpful. All chargeback decisions are made from a separate department with no direct access for communications. They essentially hide from you by not allowing you to communicate directly with them, make whatever ruling they want on the chargeback, and then limit their customer service reps on how much they can do or communicate to you. I'll be using Square from now on!

From PP to PP Business app

I switched apps a couple of years or so ago from regular PayPal to the PayPal Business app - much better for a business owner since I can send invoices.

Only two minor problems I’ve identified: First, a client and I were discussing a transaction via the Facebook Messenger app on my phone. He asked me to send him a PayPal invoice, which I did via my PayPal Business app.

Meanwhile, apart from any Invoice I may have sent, within Messenger “PayPal” or maybe mentioning “$xxx” seems to prompt a little “Pay Now” bubble to magically appear within our conversation — he somehow clicked that button and ended up requesting the money from ME - he thought it was a quick way to pay me. I ended up canceling the Invoice I sent him (and the accidental request for $ ... from me) since he figured out how to send funds directly to me. The point is he thought I goofed up and he had to correct it, when it was really the opposite.

Now, I suppose if I discuss money via Messenger, I’ll have to tell clients to ignore any pop-up prompts they may see. This may indeed be a Facebook Messenger issue rather than a PayPal one(?)

Second, I use Face ID on my iPhone XS, and when I log out the app immediately scans my face and logs me right back in - I have had to click “Log Out” then quickly turn the phone away from me so it will indeed log out. The app says, “Face ID Unsuccessful” or some such, and I have to click “Cancel” to finally end the session.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the feedback! We just released version 1.9.7 on the App Store which fixes these issues.
