Works Great, but Very Expensive

The PayPal App, if I just had to grade it as a stanza line app on UX alone, is pretty decent. My only gripe with it is that confirming a payment 2 times is kind of annoying. Besides that, its super easy to use, super clean design. The main problem with PayPal is financial. Many of us look forward to the day when we never again have to handle those dirty sheets of paper that have passed through hundreds of grubby fingers; unfortunately PayPal's expense makes shifting money using cold had cash (or check, or other electronic means besides the widely adopted PayPal). Accepting PayPal is a burden on business. Its essentially a tax imposed by a highly powerful (but non governmental) authority. Imagine the government decided to tack on an additional 3% tax on all sales. Republicans and Tea Partiers would be rioting in the streets. Well, it's already happened, and it's one if the internet's most powerful corporations imposing this tax. I can understand fees like .1% or .2% for the services PayPal provides, but anything more than .5% is highway robbery (and they get away with charging the masses nearly 3%).

Good to bad... To bank Fraud

I used this app happily for a few weeks. Oh so happy. I can just click and pay from my phone? No way! I should have learned that this came at a dark price. I got a call from the bank about suspicious activity. I didn't want to blame PayPal, my good friend immediately but he seemed all the more suspicious when all of my attempts to login (PayPal app gives you both a password and pin option). So I start to freak out. I call my shifty friend PayPal. Her robotic mother tells me someone online has recently tried to change my passwords. This makes my heart race. I only use mobile. Finally a human answers. "Oh that's strange PayPal wouldn't do that she says" apologetically. Tears well up in my eyes. "AT least FACEBOOK had the guts to tell me a change to my password in email!" I sobbed while the operator stood silent. Long story short I distrust PayPal so much I'm having them mail my remaining balance to a PO box three counties away from me. They're like a bank, with walls were made out of wet toilet paper and their only teller is Bernard Madoff. I would send money to someone by stuffing cash in a bottle and throwing it into the ocean. I might end up losing less money.

AVOID using paypal!! unless absolutely necessary

I only use paypal when I am FORCED to do so because of lack of payment options. It is very easy to set up an account and add money to your account. HOWEVER, if and when you decide that you would like to get your money back into your bank account you will need to verify your bank account by inputing the small deposits that they did. All of this is standard and have done it with other companies BUT after doing all of these steps I was still unable to get my money out and into my bank account. The website asked to verify my device, did this, went back to withdraw money and STILL WILL NOT TRANSFER MY OWN MONEY. It was not until calling customer service for 30 minutes that I was able to finally get the transfer to go through. This was about a month ago and unfortunately I had to accept another paypal payment. When trying to withdraw the sum of money, I had the EXACT SAME PROBLEMS. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST MONEY TRANSFER SERVICE EVER.
