I want the old app back

I don't like the new app. It rarely updates new shows and just keeps offering that I continue watching shows I've already watched. Sincerely, Disappointed. Updates may 10,2017. Not any change. It'd be nice to be an to share segments and shows with others, but more I'm, the app is still slow to update. A regular occurrence is; I open the app, the masthead highlights new shows that might be of interest to me. The newshour is a regular stop of mine, so it's always in the masthead (the masthead needs to update more regularly, there are some shows there for months listed as current interest) and the news listed at 10 pm is still last night news. Frustrated with the masthead preview as usual, I know to scroll through to the end of my favorites, despite the fact that I do there day, to the same show, newshour, and when I get to the newshour section, it too is talking about last night's news. Where's tonight's newshour. I want to hear to hear about today's news, I've already heard about yesterday's news that I missed because I was watching the day before, at work today. There's something not right about this apps ability to update.

Content syndication

My largest issue is not with the app itself but the syndication of content by PBS makes this channel only valuable for current release programming. There is great programming for shows that they have but once the content has aired, it's lifetime on PBS is extremely limited.

Videos don't load

The app worked fine for me (iPhone iOS 10.3.1) prior to the update. After the update, videos will no longer load. I was able to get a video to load, finally, after closing out of the app and reopening it several times. But then I had to pause it, and when I went to hit play again it wouldn't play, it just sat there frozen on the screen where it was paused. I closed out of app, reopened, and tried to resume but the video would not load. I've tried several more times to load it since, and have also tried loading others, but it will not do anything. A box keeps popping up that says "video error, cannot parse".
