What's New in Version 2.1.4
3yr old nephew loves this, but...
I've had this app for quite a while on my old phone and iPad. When I upgraded my iPhone I made sure to put this app on it. Keeps my nephew occupied and he loves the shows. However, the last three times using it, the app suddenly used almost a full month's worth of my data! I've had this app for well over a year and never had this happen before. And of course it happened at the beginning of my billing cycle so now I have to be careful for the rest of the month that I don't go over. It was not used any more than it usually is, in fact, it was hardly used as compared to how much he normally uses it. So this has me wondering if something has changed. I hope not, because it is one of his favorites that he looks forward to seeing. But I'm certainly not going to pay more a month for data for one app.
This is a good app and my kid loves it.
Sometimes it can't connect to the server though. I'm guessing due to the traffic on the server.
One thing I don't care for and should be changed in subsequent updates is that I turn off cellular service on the app so my kid doesn't burn through my data plan and the app bugs the user about it with a pop up screen informing me about that setting every time the app starts. My kid doesn't understand what to do at that point and can tap the wrong button and it will launch her into my phone settings where she can change other settings. This pop up should be removed. A connection error will suffice as a reminder to use either a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection.
My daughter love it, so do we
This is a truly wonderful app. I feel great knowing that my daughter is growing up with these PBS shows as teachers and role models. When she watches she gets the freedom to switch from one show to another and choose between short clips or full shows.
She gets really into one show for a while and then tries something new. Some shows are "too old" for her but she loves to watch them and take away little bits of learning.
This app is an amazing public service from our public broadcasters and I wish there was a way to donate to my PBS station right through the app.
