What's New in Version 1.9.6
Fixed video playback errors
Needs a lot of work
I love PBS programming. But this app is terrible. It doesn't keep me signed in consistently, sometimes it won't let me sign in, you can't skip forward while watching videos, and the pause button is right next to the "start from the beginning" button. These last two are especially annoying; I hate being 40 minutes into an episode of newshour and when I try to pause, it starts over, and my only choice is to watch the whole thing again, or give up. I end up giving up when that happens. So let people skip forward in during videos, or do a better job of letting me return to the most recently watched spot. If you fix that, this app will be 5 stars because I love PBS.
It's a treasure
Why are you people giving this one star? Because it's not keeping you signed in? I just saw a PBS Frontline episode for FREE. On my phone. This is the future I was promised. Anyone who would give this app anything below four stars is spoiled. I would go as far as to question their motives. This app has important and amazing shows available to watch for free. There is nothing to lose. Your life will be richer for having access to this PBS library. Not much you can say that about.
I really appreciate this app although I wish it would buffer as much when I pause or play it. I also wish I were able to watch a few older program series of episodes that I did see on television early in the year such as the Roosevelt series of episodes. Because that hasn't been aired in months I would have to buy it, which is rather unfortunate. Although that can be slightly bothersome I really enjoy the programs and the app. I would definitely get the app again!
