PCalc is the powerful choice for scientists, engineers, students, programmers, or indeed anybody looking for a feature rich calculator. It includes an optional RPN mode and multi-line display, a choice of button layouts, an extensive set of unit conversions and constants, a paper tape, multiple undo and redo, engineering and scientific notation, as well as support for hexadecimal, octal, and binary calculations.
Includes an Apple Watch app, so you can calculate on your wrist!
What's New in Version 3.6.3
Added the ability to export all settings and user data from PCalc into a single file, send that to another device or to somebody else, and import everything again into a different copy. Works between PCalc and PCalc Lite too.
Added an option to the "Advanced" settings to show labels on the buttons for 2nd functions.
Added support for display of UTF-32 characters in the registers / stack section.
Fixed a problem displaying fixed scientific notation with zero decimal places.
Fixed a problem adding the multiply button when editing layouts in non-decimal modes.
This is the best calculator app I've ever tried.
A few small issues though. If it had a graphing feature it would be totally complete. I love this app but i have to do my graphing on another app and id love it if this one had the whole package.
Another thing is that the new widget is a bit hard to use with all the numbers lined up. It makes it look better i know but we are all used to normal calculator num-pads which makes using it a lot easer since all the numbers are closer to each others. How ever the new design takes more time and on a small device like the 5s I'm using the numbers buttons are very small to make the widget look better.
I dont mind having a big cal widget. Thats the only real issue i have with this app. Otherwise this is the best!
PCalc developer deserves a parade
This must be my single favorite app on iPhone or Mac. It has everything (I'm a computational physicist), and is completely customizable. Once I wished there was another units conversion useful for plasmas; I wrote the developer and he added it. The app is constantly updated, and any bugs fixed. The desktop version is stellar as well. I can't imagine life without copy and paste between PCalc and other documents. I can think of no other app so beautifully conceived and maintained. (Maybe MyNoise to occupy my brain while I work; can I say that?) Buy it today. If you're a scientist, buy it yesterday.
Best calculator app, ditch the default!
It kills me when I see people using the default calculator that comes with the iPhone. This one is so much better! It's a completely customizable calculator that's scientific in both portrait and landscape mode. There's a paper tape feature so you can review your calculations. If you are serious about math or need a calculator for your job, this app is a must-have.
