“PDF Converter lets you convert practically any file on your iOS device into pro-grade PDFs” - AppAdvice.
The process is 100% secure since conversion is done locally on your iPad or iPhone. Your documents will never have to leave the device! What’s even better, is that you don’t need internet connection to do this.
Once installed, PDF Converter appears in the "Open In..." list on your device. This lets you save a PDF from Mail, Dropbox, Documents 5 and any other application on your device.
PDF Converter does support iCloud Drive, so you can collaborate with other apps easily. Starting with iOS 8 you can convert files stored in iCloud Drive folders of other apps and share PDFs between apps. Whenever you’ve done converting the document, you can save the PDF back to iCloud Drive.
Extensions let you convert web-pages from Safari and photos from Photo Library without even opening PDF Converter. Once enabled, Photo extension gives you an ability to convert several photos from Photo Library into a multi-page PDF file.
To convert web-page just change "http" to "pdfhttp" in Safari address bar and tap Go. With iOS8 you can convert web-pages using Actions extension directly from Safari.
With PDF Converter you can make PDFs from:
- Email Attachments
- iWork and MS Office documents
- Web pages
- Files from other applications
- Clipboard content
- Documents on Dropbox and iCloud Drive
PDF Converter supports the following document formats:
Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, TXT, HTML, JPG, PNG, Safari webarchive
What's New in Version 2.2.1
- Universal version for iPad and iPhone
- New localisations: Spanish, Italian, German, French, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Portuguese.
- Minor fixes and improvements
Works great. Needs better instructions.
The app tells you to go to "open in" and open the Safari page in this app. But, at least with IOS 8, what you actually do is go to the sharing button, then "more" and move the sliding button next to "convert to PDF" to "on". That creates an icon for the app in the main sharing button selections.
Then just click that icon, your page opens in the app as a PDF and you can mail it or file it. Which all seems to work very nicely.
Been using for several months. Excellent print to PDF of websites, however, some use a frame or protective build which doesn't allow the PDF print function to completely work. I am finding with the most recent upgrade less of a problem and the usefulness has increased. Their tool to keep and track PDFs so much better than using iBooks which I had beef using. Wish this program had been available several years earlier.
The #1 PDF "for everything" app
I am a guy who is always reading PDF'S. Having a bunch of audio recording gear & Guitar Riggs, I have become a user manual junkie. But the best thing about this app is I can now make a PDF from a web article that can now be saved as a 2nd user manual made by the users.. If like me, you dive heavy into PDF'S I swear to you, PAY THE MONEY! If I knew how great this app was before I bought it, I would have paid the cash even if it were $10!!
