I use this every day for my work. Works really, really well. There are probably no perfect apps, but this one pretty much delivers on every level you could want. You can use it as a stand-along app, set it up to synch with Dropbox, etc. Off hand, the only thing I wish it could do is allow me to more quickly change font size by typing in the exact font size I want to use and also, allowing me to quickly go to super large font. I use it for both legal agreements - where the font size tends to all be 10 to 16 in size - and to annotate PDFs that were made from photos. Since the PDFs of photos are much larger documents data-wise, a word using a 16 font size character, which would look plenty large on a text document, looks tiny if I've converted a photo to a PDF. Actually, there is one more thing. I wish that it were easier to create a circle and place it, for the purpose of highlighting a particular feature in a photograph, and I also wish one could easily place a default arrow - not draw the arrow, have an arrow be the default shape that gets placed on the document - and then be able to resize that arrow as to length, thickness and where each end of that arrow would end. Still, all in all, it's a tremendous tool and quite logical to use. Great job making it!
Allowed Me To Go Paperless
I am a mediator, and need to review voluminous briefs and documents before each mediation, and have those materials with me while working. With this app, my assistant works remotely and loads all the documents sent to me electronically by email into the cloud section of the app, and I have them available to read, mark-up and annotate. I can do this while traveling, without carrying a huge briefcase full of paper. It has revolutionized the way I work. The only significant "glitch" I have found (which, in all fairness is flagged in the app), is that the universal search function slows down the app. That is probably more of a function of available wifi speed than the app. I just turned off the universal search (I need it only rarely) and the app is quick and works just fine. I can turn it back on if needed for a particular project.
Everything I have been looking for, spend the few bucks
I do a lot with pdf's, I'm a tinkerer by nature and I am a bit particular when it comes to documentation. I have been "auditioning" loads of pdf utilities to do various things, leaning towards something free. I have to say though, PDF Expert is so good, I have not, for a single second regretted spending a few dollars on this. In fact, I have been so happy with it, I replaced a few of my other utilities with other Readdle apps. I have even started preferring my iPad (w keyboard) for filling out pdf forms to doing it on the desktop (I am planning to take Readdle's desktop app for a spring but haven't yet).
This does a nice job of giving me a lot of power and control with a reasonably intuitive interface. There are some things that take some figuring, but nothing that truly stumped me. Balanced by the sheer amount of utility you get here, I would give the usability an A.
Integration with all of the services I have tried has been flawless (iCloud Drive mostly) and the documents that come out are high quality. You could argue that some of the markup tools aren't quite as attractive as, say, skitch, but what's here is excellent all the same.
I could not give this a stronger recommendation.
