Does the job!

I normally don’t write reviews but I was sad to see such bad reviews for a program that I have used to fill out many pdf forms since last year. Yes, it needs patience. You cannot save directly in it. You have to use the print function. With the update to Yosemite I found that I have to use the print function and then open as a preview doc and then save. That said it does a really good job if you figure out how to use it. For instance, when typing text leave an extra space after the word to make sure the full word displays. If you use it enough you will get used to the tricks and see that it does the job needed. I don’t know of any other options except expensive Adobe Acrobat.

OK if free

I apparently got this app during a promotion while it was free. For free software, it’s worth every penny I paid for it. ;)

The app is simple, somewhat awkward, and buggy. On the first PDF I tried to add three text annotations and a signature (PNG) file, it crashed twice.

You can choose a font style and size *while* typing your text. Once you’ve create a text annotation, however, you can no longer change the font, style, size, or even edit the original text. To get a paricularly long piece of text to fit in a fairly narrow blank space, I had to type in the text annotation six times using different fonts and sizes, and then delete the other five. Seriosly, this is not software written for the 21st Century.

The final insult was when I choose the “Export to PDF” command, only to be presented with a “tip” that I should have used the Print command and selected Save as PDF. *sigh*

So I’ll probably return to looking for a PDF utility that (a) runs, (b) lets me edit things I’ve already enterend, (c) and can easily save the annotated PDF file.

Needs work, but functional with patience

When I enter text, the last character will always be hidden, UNLESS I remember to add an extra space after the last character.

No undo (I entered checkmark, decided I preferred X mark, but only way to do that is redo the form from scratch).

I used link on this [App Store] page to go to developer’s support site. Questions are posted there, but no answers. I don’t know if the developer is responding privately to the inquiries or ignoring them?

I haven’t discovered a method for resizing a text box other than blank spaces.

With just a little effort, this would be a great app and put the rest of the competing apps out of business.
