Clean, Quick and Hassle-Free
PDF-Suite does exactly what it advertises and exactly what I needed. It will merge, split, extract, insert and reorder pages in pdf files. No OCR, no annotations, no notes, no editing. There are plenty of other apps for those functions. The PDF-Suite user interface (somewhat retro but still Mac-like) is self-explanatory, and brief video help demos are included with each function as an extra assist. As a test I inserted a 268-page pdf into the middle of a 411-page pdf. I saw the spinning gear for 10 seconds, and then it was finished. The result was flawless, a 679-page document exactly as I had intended. PDF-Suite will reorder pages in a visual display, which allows the user to see the resulting layout before committing to a save. I would hope to see drag-and-drop page reordering in a future version, but that is a minor quibble. You can't go wrong with this app. With a sale tag of $2, it is underpriced,
This program does exactly what it says and does it well. It merges, splits, extracts and reorders pdf files with ease. The help files are short videos that show you exactly what to do. This is so simple yet so powerful. I looked at other pdf editor that were far more expensive and only did marginally more. If you need to combine multiple pdf files into a single file this is the software you are looking for. I have experienced none of the problems found in some of the previous reviews so I am assuming that those issues have been resolved with the more recent releases. I got this on sale and so it was a bargain but I would pay full price for this software. I would recommend going to the website for the demos to make sure this does what you are looking for as the description above is quite vague.
FAIL - Awkward and broken
All I wanted to do was import two 1-page PDFs, merge them into a single PDF, and change the page order, and rotate one page from landscape to portrait for printing.
The merge works fine, but does not allow you to change the order of the source documents relative to each other either before or after merge.
This unnecessarily complicates the merging and rearranging of multiple documents, and frankly, does not deliver what the developer states/implies "assort PDF files".
The page rotation feature does not work at all for me.
FWIW, I'm on Snow Leopard 10.8.5…not exactly an old OS.
There is no help aside from the useless video with no annotation. The UI implies drag and drop and multiple different ways to accomplish tasks, but the app does not deliver what it implies.
Overall, this is a FAIL from my perspective. I'm looking elsewhere, and I'm angry to have spent $2 and much more than $2 of my time trying to complete a simple task.
