You're all a bunch of whiners
When your wifi disconnects do you throw your laptop in the trash? Seriously. I've had my pebble for about 8 months now and gone through multiple firmware and app updates. This $99 investment has been rock solid. It's been dropped, doused in water, restarted, upgraded, and banged around and it keeps on ticking. It keeps time, sends me my notifications, lets me control my calls & music, and needs charging only once a week. Sure, every few months something happens and the watch doesn't connect via bluetooth to my iPhone 5s. Simple solution: remove the watch from your list of Bluetooth devices, restart both devices, and add it back again. If your watch is only a few days old and you can't make it work that's on you. The Pebble app is good. Nothing special. It lets you change watch faces, add third party apps (some are useful but most not so much), and upgrade firmware. The only problem I've had is trying to get Dominoes Pizza Tracker working correctly on my wrist. Kept saying it couldn't connect to the server. Not clear if that was a Dominoes issue or a Pebble issue. But who really needs pizza tracker on a watch anyway?
Loses connection daily
When it works, I love my Pebble. When I first got it 1.5 years ago, it was pretty rock solid.
But with each new release of this app, it has gotten progressively worse. I don’t know if the problems are with the updated Pebble firmware or with this app, but I honestly don’t care which.
*AT LEAST* once a day, my Pebble just loses connectivity to my iPhone 6. I’ve rebooted the phone. I’ve rebooted the Pebble. I’ve deleted the Bluetooth settings, factory reset the pebble and re-paired. I’ve done everything I can.
The app will just silently lose it’s connection at some point during the day. It doesn’t matter how many times I switch to the app during the day (to make sure it keeps running) or that I force quit EVERY OTHER APP except for the Pebble app so that there is no resource constraint.
It WILL drop connection daily, if not more often.
Usually you don’t even know that you’ve lost connection until — at some point — a pop up box appears asking for the Pebble app to have permission to talk to the Pebble.
Give it up at that point. You will never, ever be able to re-connect to the Pebble without force-quitting the Pebble app, at which point it will connect immediately.
I’ve missed so many alerts because of this that it’s making me insane.
We're not whiners. But the connection is awful
I've been spending a ton of time trying to get this figured out. The watch is great, but not until I realize on a daily basis that it's failing to connect to my phone, or the other way around.
I've tried everything but restoring my phone. I can't find a way to make the pebble and phone 5 stay connected for more than 3 days. As of now, I blame the app because half the time it asks me if it can connect to my pebble and I'm sitting here thinking, "I've said yes a thousand times already..."
I'm on my second watch (which was a refurb by the way) because of screen tearing issues and it definitely looks like a refurb. Definitely.
And now it's disconnecting more than the pebble steel that is broken. The only way to reconnect it is reset the pebble and send myself a test text. Just awful.
