What's New in Version 2.2.1
Good fix - back on top
Admittedly, there is still a learning curve to benefit from this app. But for what it does in personalizing your choices, Peel goes beyond the simplistic "favourite" list. It allows you to browse by category. It has added multi-room support that allows you to configure more than one provider. (You can add a "room" for your vacation home - even hotel room.) Best of all, its data about over the air programming is superior to TV Guide, which I had used before discovering Peel. Peel's data includes the numerous community stations that have popped up since digital transition. For what the app have not updated on the device, it allows you to "continue search on the server." The latest "live search" makes this even easier. Oh, before I forget, kudos to the decision to add "Favourite Channels" and "Favourite Shows". I'm not sure if multitasking is a good thing with this application - if it sips juice from battery.
Here is a wish list item: The search-on-server feature should also allow on-spot download to device, maybe item by item, so during the effective period, I do not have to bother the server. Another one: Some community stations' programme data are incorrect.
Funny this minor update should arrive the same day its main competitor, TV Guide has a major update that included significant usability improvements. TV Guide now includes those community stations - and apparently has more accurate data. Keep up, Peel!
Outstanding product / app
I can honestly say after having the peel fruit for over a year and using it with this app. We can control our tv system with all or any iOS device that is handy. And because it ties into to your wifi I can lower the volume while in another room when the kids have it too loud. Works perfect switching tv to other inputs like apple Tv. One touch switching.
Best remote improvement in decades.
You need the hardware to really see the benefits.
Like the category detail
I like the fact that you can search by categorizes i.e. movies (comedy, drama, science fiction etc), TV comedies, news, reality etc. The only thing I don't like is that you can't see what is on each channel without actually searching.
