As if Quicken and Mint came together to create Personal Capital

Seriously, sign up, link your accounts, and start aggregating your data. I have years in Mint and Quicken, however, for one, Personal Capital shows investments much much MUCH more nicely than Quicken for Mac. It’s not as clunky and I can easily check and update from any device, seriously. They even have an Apple Watch app. Quick updates too.

It’s better than Mint simply because Mint is slow, has trouble keep accounts in sync, and its interface is messy and busy. Personal Capital’s interface is much cleaner. My stupid mistake is that I resisted until about 2 weeks ago, and I gotta say, I wish I hadn’t. The problem with online financial aggregators like Mint and Personal Capital is that it’s difficult to load data into the system. In Personal Capital’s case, impossible.

I would like to see automatic transaction rename rules offered. If I have to rename one more transaction that I’ve already renamed....

Anyways, TL;DR: the apps are great, the service is even better (with the shortcomings that comes with any online financial aggregator). -m

I would pay for this if they’d fix one massive bug

I am trying to use this to replace Quicken, and so far I think it can be a great tool for people with complex financial situation, lots of investments.

However, one fatal flaw is that PC often will switch my HELOC account debit balance to display as a credit. This goes on for several days or weeks then will correct itself or I have to submit a help ticket. This has occurred multiple times and essentially makes the net worth dashboard useless.

I would pay a small monthly subscription for the tool (I know I can pay for them to manage my investments) if only they would fix this big bug and a few of the smaller ones. It’s much better than any other web financial tracker like Mint for people like me. I’ll continue to use it but this bug is a big turn-off.

Personal Capital a great way to track your net worth

I’ve used wealth tracking apps in the past but none were as good as Ppersonal Capital. The app is easy to use, maintains a solid connection to your accounts. I rarely run into a problem with the app connecting to my accounts. With other applications, I had frequent ‘check your login settings’ messages.

Personal Capital is free to use and if you need assistance, their financial advisors are there to help.
