What's New in Version 1.3
Thanks for everyone's patience with the checklist import bug, but it's now fixed. Yay! And, there's a bunch of new good stuff, including:
New UI for iPhone5 and retina display support
Canadian provinces added to search
and much more.
Tap on the What's More popup to see a quick video overview of all the changes in this release.
Thanks for the update!
With the update for iPhone 5, this is probably the best overall bird reference. The drawings from Peterson are better than photos for identification, and the textual information is more organized and standardized than other apps. The only way it could be improved would be to have more than one vocalization per bird.
Confusing and unintuitive to navigate through anything but the slides. Definitely watch their tutorials. There is a ton of information in here if you can find it! Along with this app, I use Sibley's, iBird, and BirdsEye NA. Peterson's excels in showing you the pages of the great Peterson's Field Guides books, so you can see many similar species next to each other on the screen.
I am enjoying the guide tremendously, I use it all the time. I especially like the features that allow me to download site checklists for local hotspots from the Peterson Guide website, and to add my own photos to each species' page.
Please make it possible to add Ruddy Duck to the life list. I saw one today!
