Enjoyable...for many reasons...
The Good: City of Cyan brings a great mix of puzzles to the adventure... this is a nice change of pace, as Big Fish offerings are usually dominated by endless repetitive HO scenes. The puzzles are relatively simple and the developers tend to hand you too many directions, but it was an entertaining few hours.
The Bad: Moving around and picking up items tended to be a bit difficult at times, as the game seemed pretty impervious to normal touch. There was a good bit of multi-tapping to get your point across.
The Ugly: Perhaps in an effort to save money, the developers handed a script to the first intern that happened by...and thus the worst voice acting ever was born. I personally found it so bad that it was good. "I feel fine. WITH MY PENDANT!" deserves some sort of award. I don't care which award, just give that girl something... Because that was PURE GOLD.
I loved this game!!!! Well done!
I have played a bajillion (seems like) HOS games and this one rates among the best of all of them. Great graphics, interesting story, and I loved the "HOS within the HOS" scenes! The challenges were relaxing and fun and not ridiculously difficult or hard to understand what to do. And I always love a game where the hint system guides you with where to go next if you get stuck which is way better than having to refer to the in-game help manual or worse, like so many games - havining to go on the internet and find a walkthrough. My only complaint and it is miniscule is that the ending was a bit abrupt but it's not enough to steer clear of this one. Thanks Big Fish!
Too many crashes
It started out O.K., so I paid for this game. Although the story is confusing and the acting is awful, the graphics are O.K., there is a decent amount of variety, and the puzzles are a little too easy, but interesting. However, in one of the HO scenes, it kept crashing and closing when I tried to tap an object. I was finally able to continue, but eventually got bored with the garbled story line. After an especially confusing part, it ended suddenly. The end didn't make any sense. Big Fish games have deteriorated, gotten too expensive, and are marketed with too many glitches. I can't recommend spending money on this game, but if you play the so-called "free" version and it seems interesting, go for it; they've released worse.
