Don't Buy 2.0 Bridge
Update Nov 24th
After speaking to a Hue representative, I was told that they would be fixing the Siri/HomeKit integration problem with a future software update. The software update has just been released and the problem still persists. This is now going on several weeks and no additional answers from Hue. What an absolute waste of my time and money. What a shame as I used to love this product. The 2.0 bridge has one job, to connect to HomeKit. It can't even do that one job. Stay away until Hue decides to fix this issue. Read the rest of the reviews I am not alone on this one.
One of these stars is just out of loyalty to the brand. I've had it for many years now and save for a few glitches and a terrible UI it's be a great product.
Enter the new 2.0 Hub .... Urggggg! Terrible general connection stability. And far as HomeKit compatibility ... nope. Been a week and still keep getting a "can't find HomeKit combustible bridge" error.
Read lots of stories about people that have had their shipments for the new device delayed. My advice, don't complain. Seems like the first few rounds of these things are more heard towards beta-testers.
Time for us early adopter to get together and flood the online world with the story of this mess of an "update". Seems more like a scam to me. The new 2.0 has not offered me a single thing that my old round bridge did.
Philips hue bridge 2.0
After getting the new bridge and setting it up. I went to my iPhone to set up Siri voice control, but it would not allow me to. I kept trying different things to troubleshoot it but it wasn't working. Finally I called hue and they told me that you can't have multiple iCloud accounts controlling the lights using siri. (I already set up my girlfriends phone before mine so hers works) I think this is such an inconvenience for anyone living with multiple people. They expect the household to be on the same iCloud account. And I have never heard of a household sharing an iCloud account. I hope that this inconvenience is fixed promptly so I can enjoy the ability to turn lights on and off using Siri as well.
Worst app does nothing
With all the new lights and the really cool apps this one really looks like it's an old dinosaur. It needs to be completely redesigned like the playbulb app that is super cool. And now that all these new bulbs are coming out and they're a lot cheaper this whole system is going to just die out real quick if they don't do something fast.
Bought the New hub 2.0 and now most of my lights don't work. The hub is not finding my previous lights that work perfectly with my old hub. What a piece of junk. I called tech-support now they're saying the new hub can't find the old bulbs with auto search. Are you kidding me????????
Siri now works only sometimes it's a hit or miss
