What's New

Version 7.0

In this update, I fixed a bug that sometimes prevented Thomas Hobbes's Leviathan and Adam Smith's Theory of Moral Sentiments from opening.

Great but I wish it saved where I left off

BobbyF92

*changed to 5 stars due to genuine, sincere reply by developer to reviewer* Exactly that. This app is awesome and provides a ton of resources; the only thing is I have to go through relocate where I was reading. Some of these are quite long and would be useful to have a save spot option or something like that. Other than that, I strongly recommend. Worth the $5.

Developer Response

Hi BobbyF92, I'm happy to report that your suggestion is already implemented in the app! If you begin reading any entry in Full Works or Suggested Excerpts, the app will automatically remember which page you are on and how far down that page you are. When you next open that piece of text, the app will return you to the position where you left off. If you find a passage that is not exhibiting this behavior, email me at KristerJohnsonApps@gmail.com and I will get it fixed right away. Nevertheless, due to your suggestion, I will add the ability to see where you are currently bookmarked in each passage in a future update. Hopefully this will make the situation clearer. Hope that helps, and always feel free to email me with anything that you need! Best, Krister

Yes, you should own this app.

If you love philosophy as much as I do I highly recommend buying this app. For a small fee you will own a plethora of famous philosophers’ ideas both in original writing and explanations of them. Whether you teach philosophy at a college or are just somebody who enjoys reading, you will be glad you have this.

This app is a hidden gem

Great app with extremely accurate summaries of each philosopher and what their philosophies were. I like to read up on each philosopher before studying them for the philosophy courses I have to take.
