Requirements & limitations:
* To transfer photos from one iPhone/iPad to another both devices need to have this app installed. You only pay once when both devices use the same iTunes account to purchase apps
* Access to a properly configured wifi network is required for this application to work. Some public or private wifi networks may be configured to block communication between devices preventing the transfer connection to be established
* When transferring videos from a newer device model (like an iPhone 5) to an older device model (like an iPad 1) the videos may be resized so it can be played by the receiving device. Videos are resized to the maximum video playback resolution of the receiving device.
* Deleting albums or photos that were synced using iTunes is currently not supported from our app - The only way to delete those photos is via iTunes itself
LIMITATIONS OF FREE APP:
* Free version of Photo Transfer App is limited to transferring up to 5 files at a time in medium resolution. Thanks for considering upgrading to the full version and supporting indie development!

I have done a couple of reviews on this app, including some negative comments when the desktop app was first introduced. But with every update, this app just keeps getting better. The desktop app works great now recognizing all of my devices. The transfers are super quick and I have had no issues with pictures out of order. The only thing I have noticed is, if I edit a picture on my iPad, then transfer it, it transfers the original without the edits. Not a big deal, my editing software is better on my computer anyway. Regarding the comments that it only transfers videos that are a few minutes in length, I totally disagree. Recently, I have transferred multiple videos at a time that varied in length and included lengths of 27 minutes. At the beginning of this week, I transferred a video of over 46 minutes in length. It was from an iPad to an iPad and it worked flawlessly. This is a great app!
***I recently got a new phone and when I opened the app, it was telling me to upgrade, even though I had already purchased it years ago. It didn't do that when I got new devices less than one year ago. I don't understand why they make it appear that you didn't already purchase the app and it makes you go through extra steps to finish the "upgrade". I still love the app though.
Works well
Since Image Capture bombs every time I try to import photos, Photo Transfer app has come in very handy. And the ability to go straight from the Camera Roll to my desktop is a great feature.
One very nice thing is that it wll show files that have non-destructive edits. Something Image Capture and Photos can't do.
I wish the destop view had some sorting options and would retain window sizing from one session to another.
Overall this is a good app to have for transferrring images.
this app does NOTHING AT ALL
I bought this app because it has such high ratings, and I am damned if I know why. I bought the $ version, downloaded the desktop version to boot, and launched both. They found each other and connected. And then…...
Nothing. NOTHING. AT ALL.
It gave me no way to transfer files from my ipad to macbook or vice versa. It's not that it doesn't work --- there's not even the option of seeing how it might work if it did!! Can't transfer photos from the ipad to the laptop. Don't even see how that might work. It shows one "album" that appears to be empty, and there are more than 1000 photos on my ipad. Desktop version cannot find a single photo on my laptop (which has 10,000) photos. The web app found the photos, then supposedly uploaded 15 test photos to my iPad. It said it worked. So where are they? Not on my my ipad, that's for sure.
FAIL.
