Ratings and Reviews

Once was a great app. Not any longer!

I used this app for a few years before it was in the App Store. It was my go-to solution for embedding GPS data into JPGs and DNGs. I hadn’t used it in a couple years, which meant Apple came out with a couple OS upgrades since then and the old version crashed at startup - I figured it was time for me to switch to the App Store version. I didn’t hesitate to plunk down the cash to buy the new version. As a software engineer myself - I understand how important it is to pay developers for their time.

This, however, was a mistake. The new version crashes on Yosemite - very frequently. Consequently - it is unusable. I was afraid it would corrupt my photos. Not worth the risk & pain of dealing with crashes.

I cobbled together a new solution using a combination of Google Earth (free) and Adobe Lightroom (paid). I recommend you do the same.

Long Time User

I have used PhotoLinker for many years. Originally it seemed like the only practical solution to geotagging my photos. Over the years, I have changed computers and cameras and updated OS software. Not each of these upgrades were painless, but eventually, the software would be upgraded to match my new configuration. I trust Early Innovation will continue the support.

I find this program more flexible and useful than the geotagger in Lightroom CC, my other current option.

I do not like having to buy two copies, one for my home machine and one for my lapttop, but the App Store leaves me no option.

Great software!

I’ve been using GPSPhotoLinker for several years now to edit the location information on my photos (I have an external GPS device that logs my location and then PhotoLinker matches it up). The latest version of GPSPhotoLinker doesn’t work on OS 10.9 so I figured I’d upgrade to this and support the developer. At first the software threw errors whenever I tried to save my files so I contacted the developer who immediately worked with me to figure out what was wrong. Fantastic software and fantastic support!
