Photos Companion, a Microsoft Garage project, is an easy way to move photos and videos from your phone to Microsoft Photos on your PC.
Photos Companion works with Microsoft Photos on your Windows 10 PC to directly transfer photos and videos from phone to PC over Wi-Fi. Just make sure your phone and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network, then scan a code and start the transfer.

Great app...just needs some updates, etc.
I have had the hardest time transferring my photos from my iPhone to my computer, for months, after one of the Microsoft updates about a half a year ago! I thought that it was just some problem with my laptop, until I read that other people were having the same problem. I was beyond aggravated, to say the least!
Thankfully, Microsoft came up with this new app so that we could transfer our photos from our iPhones to our computers via wi-fi!!! It mostly works well. I’m so happy to be able to transfer my photos now!!! The only problem that I have recently, is that I’ll do everything to get the transfer going...but then when about 50-90 pictures start to get to my computer, I get a message saying: “❗️An unexpected error occurred. Received only 52 files, was expecting 265. Press Import to proceed with importing.”
I really hope that they get the app working better soon. I have probably 35,000 pictures on my phone, and it’s taking up most of my phones memory! Photos are so precious, and need to be saved.
Has potential, bugs and all, but it is just a prototype.
I appreciate the ease of this app, bringing the gap from iOS to PC in terms of photo sharing and bypassing DropBox or anything like that. My issue is that I keep getting this error saying that my phone and the PC need to be on the same WiFi Network. They both are on the same network but the notification persists, which makes me unable to share anything at all. I’ve tried switching networks, closing/opening the app, to no avail. Of course, it’s just a test for mobile import, and I do hope the future, official release is polished.
Dead app. Last updated more than a year ago.
No longer supported. Developers don’t respond. Actually if you try and give feedback to the developer via the email address provided in the app, you get an immediate response saying your email address is not on their allowed mailing list. They abandoned this app. Not sure why Apple doesn’t remove it from the App Store. Imagine how many man hours have been wasted by problem installing it and trying to figure out why it’s not working. Typical Microsoft. Lofty goals never reached. Stick with airdrop and Macs. Works each time every time since inception. Apple software engineers care and are located stateside. Hope you understand.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
