Phyn lets you speak the language of water. Monitor how much water your family uses every month, day, hour - even in real time. Be alerted the minute a leak occurs and turn off your home's water with the tap of a screen, from anywhere. Daily diagnostic "Plumbing Checks" assist you in maintaining your home's plumbing system and catch tiny leaks before they become big problems.
Phyn lets you stay on top of your family's water use so you can stay ahead of your monthly bill. View water use monthly, daily, hourly.
Phyn constantly monitors your home for leaks and potentially harmful changes in pressure and temperature. As soon as an issue is detected, Phyn sends you SMS and push notifications to tell you what is happening and gives you the power to turn your water off to mitigate water damage.
After Phyn learns about your home’s water use, it can turn your water off automatically to prevent damage from leaks. You also have the choice to turn your water off yourself via the app, from anywhere.
Phyn runs daily diagnostic checks to give you and your plumber insights into your plumbing, so that you can ensure that your system is watertight.
In this Phyn app release, we've continued to make improvements and squashed a few bugs.

App needs some work
Update 1: got a call from Phyn support to follow up after new device was installed (great customer service!). Walked me through re-connecting after a reset (would be nice to be able to reconnect/update Wi-Fi from app vs having to delete/re-add account). It’s up and running now and will be able to test new device/app more fully. App has a few quirks, e.g. I had to set my iOS font to smallest to see all parts of screen (needs to be able to handle normal/larger font sizes).
Original: Was part of pilot and see great potential for product. However, after device was replaced with retail version and new app was downloaded, setup is not working and there is no online support. Account was created and device was connected to Wi-Fi, but it had to be reset to factory settings. Now app won’t go thru setup steps when I log in to my account, and “Wi-Fi update” under settings only turns on notifications. There is no obvious way to go thru connecting to phyn Wi-Fi and then picking home Wi-Fi AFTER A RESET WHEN USING EXISTING ACCOUNT... the app screen is blank with only blue background.
Great product and support
After researching several home water monitoring devices, I chose the Phyn Plus for several reasons. The science behind the device is superior. The unit itself appears more durable. The reviews have been excellent. The app is relatively intuitive. Like any new technology, there will be some issues to work through. This is where Phyn is incredible. When I entered questions on their website for support, they always responded with detailed personal answers within 24 hours. Once they even called me! When’s the last time a customer support did that? Everyone touts good support, but seldom delivers, Phyn definitely delivers.
While Phyn does allow you to have your own plumber install it, I would suggest using a Phyn Proguard installer, since they might also be a Phyn customer in their own house.
I am very happy with the device and app, and they continue to enhance the app.
Good so far
I just installed Phyn and the app is still learning usage and devices (four in three days). The app is very basic but functional. The primary screen has a fancy graphic while water is running, which is fine but perhaps wasting the space that could be used for something more. The daily usage and hourly usage chart shows when and how much water I am using.
Aside from the obvious benefits of a device like this, I have one more that is perhaps more diabolical: teenagers who take long spa showers. Instead of threatening to turn off the water to get them out and then having to go to the basement to actually shut off the water, I can stand outside the bathroom door with a warning, after which I can shut it off from my phone, and be there to hear the squeals. Ha ha!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
