Pi Cubed is a visual math application designed from the ground up for a touch-based interface. Unlike traditional calculators, Pi Cubed lets you construct, typeset, and instantly evaluate mathematical expressions using an interactive menu system. The use of the entire screen, combined with the capability to lay out equations as they would be written on a piece of paper, makes even complex calculations easy to follow. Common touch gestures, like pinch-zooming and touch-based panning, enhance the entry and editing process.
A diverse range of mathematical operations are supported, including logarithms, trigonometric functions, arbitrary roots, exponents, and factorials.
Calculations can be stored within the internal database for later reference or editing. Also present within this database are over 150 built-in equations, representing fields that range from finances to fluid mechanics. You can use these equations (with fully annotated variables) for a quick reminder, or you can enter numerical values and directly evaluate the equations.
Equations can be sent via email in LaTeX format for inclusion in papers or other publications.
Detailed information on all features is present within the in-application manual. Video walkthroughs and the full content of this manual can be found at our product web page.
What's New in Version 2.01
Fixed a crashing bug on startup caused by migration from the older version seen by some users.
Pi Cubed started out reallt great but fizzed BIG!
I bought Pi Cubed several years when I had just one iPad, it was great. Since then, I have a new iPod and and iPad - Neither of with I can transfer my cutom equation library to!!!
I have emailed the developer and, despite his witllingnees to try to come up with a workaround (until the next version will be released - waiting approaching 3 years now), he also sited other software made by him that was the schedule priority and he did NOT have the resiueses to maintain what he had almost already created.. Now that the special provisioning fille (part od the non-working "fix") as stopped working, all of my original custom eqations are now gone. Too bad the software is not enhanceable, the developer diesn't have the time or whatever reason he provides to NOT support software he is GETTING PAID FOR, I trusted my hundred plus hours programming the original, But I'mI sure those aspects are small compared to new revenue sources. I have reveiwed this software a very high score but after all the promises and just the willingness to support a product you still sell; I give you kn more than a one and would rate lower is possible.
I just bought this app. I gave a 3 stars. I may raise this if my questions are answered.
There does not seem to be a way to change the number of decimal places or a way to change any other settings. I do not need that many decimal places. I only need two most of the time. Settings to allow the option of placing the equal sign in front of the expression would be convenient e.g. Y=x+2, instead of x+2=y.
Is there a way to change formatting so that constants can be made a different color or even locked once you are finished making the equation.
Is there a way to process one equation and have it remain on the display so that you can use it's output for the next equation? Right it seem you can only do one it does everything it can to occupy the center of the screen, instead of being positioned nicely and aligned on the top or perhaps top-left, to allow room for subsequent equation, if that ability is enabled.
An option to change this bluish background soothing else would be nice.
Units would be nice
If you like to use any of the modern 2 and 4 line calculators that don't require to learn a syntax for entries. Like most calculators it has a few limitations. But I feel they are very small in comparison to the natural way that it handles the majority of operations for students in, Algebra, Trig, Physics, and general science calculations. It has a few weakness with really small numbers and really big ones but for everything in between I find it about as enjoyable as a calculator can be and worth the money.
