You get hours of learning out of this
My daugther wanted a piano and so we got one. I also want to learn to play and see what the situation is in computer aided learning. There is of course the piano lessons in Apple Garage Band, which are really nice and which you should check out if you got GarageBand with your Mac. And then there is this, “Piano for Dummies”. As GarageBand, it can connect via USB / MIDI with a digital piano or keyboard. This is very helpful, because you get immediate feedback on how well you are playing.
There are some really nice features here, like a on-screen keyboard that shows which key you are pressing and which note it is, which help me a lot. It brought back stuff I learned long ago really fast and teached me stuff I probably never learned.
I would advise to get some hours with a personal teacher as weel, to ensure that you do not go wrong the way you sit and hit the keys etc. But this is great instant-feedback learning support which is there for you 24h.
The GUI looks a bit dated, but for the price of one personal hour, you get hours of support by a never-tiring app.
