Picture in Picture (PiP) allows watching videos from the internet while working at a computer. Using unique algorithms, the program finds videos on web pages and allows to open them in a floating window, that remains in the front.

Picture in Picture supports viewing any video from web pages opened in Safari and Chrome browsers. Using PiP you can also open and watch .mp4, .mov, .m4v files stored in your computer.

Using Picture in Picture you can:
- Watch YouTube videos while working in Xcode
- Watch Netflix while shopping online
- Watch Twitch streams while playing CS

We guarantee that the following web-sites are tested and work with Picture in Picture:
-- Youtube
-- Netflix
-- Vimeo
-- Dailymotion
-- and all others.

Flash players, HTML5 players, iframe videos - all types of web players are supported.

Picture in Picture - is not a browser, it is an application for playing videos.

PiP can:
- close the active tab after opening a video in PiP mode
- try stop playing videos in flash-players after opening them in PiP mode
- launch when the operating system is started
- close all opened videos before opening a new one

Excellent way to watch Netflix

This app is great! I use it for watching Netflix while using my computer, where I need the video to hover above the other windows I'm working on. I had used a couple of other options like Helium and Fluid, but both had stopped working with Netflix. This app is totally worth the cost. I like that you initiate the video playback from inside your browser; it's a really nice integration.

When the video feed is compatible, it’s great!

I’ve been looking for a simple PiP for OS X, considering that my poor old Macbook is not able to run the latest and greatest OS X that’s on it’s way (which has native PiP) I was happy to find this app. Reposition the window, doesn’t have an obnoxiously large window titlebar or anything (even the stoplight buttons for OS X are an overlay on the video feed.). My only feature request would be to have a quick opacity adjuster slider or menu selector.

Worth It

This does pretty much exactly what's advertised; it allows a picture in picture popout over anything else you are doing for online video such as youtube and twitch. Too many cons to be a 5-star app, but still good and very usable.

Bottom line: The closest to iOS’s PiP video integration that you will get on OSX currently. Is that worth $1.99? Yes, though hopefully updates are coming to address the list of cons.

- Works over fullscreen programs as well as on desktop
- Allows multiple instances
- Embedded shortcut integration for my browser of choice, Chrome
- Doesn’t get stuck partway through playing a youtube video as VLC sometimes seems to
- Remembers video window size and location between sessions
- No titles bar wasting space; all controls on mouseover
- A “back to origin” button to return to page in browser where video originates
- Moving in and out of fullscreen as simple as a double-click
- Pleasingly low resource usage
- App controls stay up in the menu bar instead of clogging the dock

- Only Chrome and Safari support for embedded shortcuts
- No earbuds or keyboard multimedia key support; those still very annoyingly open itunes
- No youtube playlist support, or “next video” capability; you need to return to the browser
- No way to queue videos or create playlists
- No way to change video quality or set quality; seems to default to high
- Very sparse options disallow much customization
- Can’t play MPEG-4 or AVI files or anything else; this is a streaming content only app
- No transparency or mouse-through options
