App not accurate and reviews possibly fake

I was excited to use this app because it’s so highly rated and there are some plants around our house that I need help identifying. First, I tried the app on a few plants I already knew so I could see how accurate the app actually is with identification. It didn’t get one correct, and worse yet, the pictures of the possible matches didn’t even display, which makes things very difficult for the user as far as confirming whether the matches are close or correct. I’m also fairly certain that the reviews for this app are fake. Almost every review is written with nearly perfect grammar and punctuation; if you’ve ever read real product reviews, you understand that this never happens. Some people have poor grammar, spelling, punctuation, write only in lower case, etc. Also, in my 37 years using the English language, I’ve never heard the phrase, “This really makes it,” which is a phrase used in two different reviews of this app in regard to the app “really making it.” Again, I’ve never once heard that phrase (nor really understand it, as it seems like a poor translation into English), let alone read it TWICE in these reviews? In my opinion, this app is not good and the developer either wrote good reviews himself or had friends do so. I don’t recommend.

Developer Response

I am sorry if it didn't work for you.But I am pretty sure it works for so many users, and our developers work very hard for it and still work hard to make it better, you can send us the pictures it didn't recognize through email which you can find in the app. Thanks for your understanding!

So relaxing and interesting!

First of all, I’m a huge nerd when it comes to classification and identifying plants. So this app just add fuel to the flame of my interest. While I’ve only had this app for a short while, it has yet to let me down. First off, I started by taking pictures of plants which I had already identified (mainly because I had been the one to grow them), and I was pleasantly surprised to see how accurate the app was. Then I went and took pictures of /everything/ every leaf, grass, succulent, and herb fell victim to my camera. And this is just one use of this app.
After identifying the plant, it gives you so much information (not as much as a botanical field journal, but enough to satisfy me). I had the origin/history, uses, scientific name (class, family, genus, and more!), and for some flowers it gave some typical Victorian Flower Language meanings. It was great!!
Honestly a 10/10 recommendation, and it deserves the 5 stars I gave it!
