Ping Analyzer - Graphical Network Ping
By Adrian Granados-Murillo
This app is only available on the App Store for iOS devices.
Ping Analyzer is an easy to use graphical network ping tool that provides real-time round-trip time (RTT) statistics, as well as jitter and Mean Opinion Score (MOS) estimation.
Ping Analyzer uses Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) Echo Request and Echo Reply packets to determine the availability and response time of a target machine. With Ping Analyzer you have a graphical representation of actual response times and packet delivery rate, as well as real-time statistics while you ping a host.
• Easy-to-use, intuitive user interface
• Adjustable number of pings and interval between packets
• Adjustable packet size and Time-To-Live (TTL)
• History and Favorites lists
• Ability to send email summary reports

What's New in Version 1.8
Fixes for iOS 8.
Simple and functional
The app has a simple interface and functions as advertised. Apparently others who critical reviews failed to have the necessary knowledge and expertise to understand precisely what is required to use this type of tool.
The tool has an input box at the top right wherein you type a hostname or IP address and it continuously sends ICMP Echo commands and rates the connection based upon the speed of the return responses and how many pings are not responded to (lost packets). It performs this function well.
Works well - no frills
This app does exactly what it claims to do and does a nice job. I like the layout of the realtime chart. The user interface is sparse and not completely intuitive (at least to me), but who cares if it works. I give it 5 stars because it does just what I wanted.
Two features I would like to see are a) multiple sites in a single chart, and b) a chart showing round trip times for user-defined HTTP requests.
Great for checking network quality
Does a great job - simple and easy to use. Don't be put off by reviews that complain about lack of instructions. The only address you need to enter is a URL for any site. Different sites will give you different results depending on the route your connection takes to get there.
