Ping is the world's most versatile locating device. Incredibly small and packed with cellular, GPS and Bluetooth technology, Ping can be used to find anything or anyone, anywhere in the world quickly and easily with the all new Ping mobile app.
To use the Ping app, you need to purchase a Ping device at pinggps.com or wherever Ping is sold. Unlike traditional Bluetooth devices, which only work up to 35 feet, Ping works off cell towers like your phone, making it perfect for anything important that moves: kids, pets, bikes, drones, luggage, international shipments. The uses are endless.
Ping is a locator, and unlike other "tracking" devices, is designed to help you locate what's important only on request. This function allow for a considerably longer battery life. Ping also features two buttons: 1) a "check-in" button for loved ones to let you know where they are at all times, and 2) an "alert button" in the case where more urgent help is needed.
The Ping app makes it incredibly easy to locate Ping wherever or whoever it might be with. Launch the app, tap the device you want to find, and within minutes the app will hone in on the device's location. If the device is inside, so GPS satellites are not available, the app provides a rough approximation of the device's location by using the closest cell towers for a "best guess" estimate.
Similar to other Bluetooth trackers, if you are near your device, such as in the home or office, and can't find your bag, purse, case or whatever it's clipped to, you can use the app's proximity rings to quickly locate the device.

Great concept Needs improvement
Similar to the Tile app system in both side and utility, the Ping GPS locator adds in GPS and cellular for potentially worldwide location. I say potentially because the success rate of finding the device outside of bluetooth range has been marginal at best. There have been a multitude of difficult to install firmware update that hopefully is addressing the reliability but it's still a hit or miss affair unless the Ping is perfect cell coverage with a clear view of the sky. Also, once in bluetooth range and playing a sound, the sound is not loud enough and even lower than a Tile device. All that said, it's better to have a half a chance of finding what might be lost as opposed to no chance. Hopefully improvements can be made.

Ping GPS is the ultimate on demand tracking solution that is incredibly small but amazingly accurate with its locations.
It works globally using cellular and GPS data to provide tracking information.
Very useful for instant tracking of your child, dog, car, bike or anything else that tries to escape you.
Note: you need the Ping tracking device to be able to use this app!
I ordered this from Indiegogo on February 28th, 2017 and was expecting it July 2017. It finally arrived this month (July 2018). I am very disappointed that I spent $100 and I can only locate it with Bluetooth in close proximity to my phone. The big pitch was that it I could locate it via a cell tower network. This never happens and the apps just states “we are attempting to locate this device to request it’s location... this may take a few minutes.” Also, the device battery lasts only a couple of days which is not even close to what was pitched via Ping’s Indiegogo campaign.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
