What's New in Version 5.2.3
Every 3 weeks, we polish up the Pinterest app to make it faster and better than before. This release contains many fixes, including:
- a fix for a crash on startup if you had Pins with no descriptions in your feed,
- a fix for a bug that caused images to stop loading,
- improvements to our performance when scrolling,
- restoring the side swipe gesture to move between Pins,
- making it easier to Pin multiple images from your Camera Roll
We genuinely appreciate your suggestions. We aren't able to respond to App Store reviews, which is why we ask for your feedback at http://help.pinterest.com/contact
The app is amazing! A great way to socialize, show your interests, good catergorization, and a catchy app name. But, the fact you can't delete a private message conversation bothers me. The one main thing, why can't you? Say if you're discussing a project and you wan't to keep the conversation for further use and analysis, right? Well, if you have abandoned the project, and or, don't work with that person anymore, I see no reason not to be able to delete it if you have no further use of it. If you're casually talking to someone, you should have the ability to delete that conversation as you do any other. My suggestion is that, if you are discussing something important (projects, studies, etc etc...), you can have two options, to either delete, or hide the conversation. Then you'll be fully capable to do whichever you prefer at the time. This change, I beleive, would benefit the quality of the app, and the users experience of it. This is just a suggestion, but I highly recommend it. I've had many agree that this would come in handy, and just essentially be more convenient to the user and benefit the quality of the overall app. Thank you, and have a nice day!~ :)
Good and bad of Pinterest
I love Pinterest in terms of being able to capture pages and hold on to stuff for ever. But I absolutely HATE how it doesn't have a web version so if I am trying to pull up a link I searched for on google it takes 2 minutes for my phone to exit out of the browser and then open the ap, which then asks me for my user and password and then I have to go and search the Pinterest ap for the article I was trying to view. It's so annoying I quit using Pinterest and also if I see an article that I want to read but it was grabbed by Google from Pintrest , I skip over it unless absolutely nothing else pops up that gives me the same data points I was looking for. I absolutely hate hate hate how there isn't a way to just search the article that Google pulls up without that time investment to wait to move to the ap and how complicated it makes things. Joss and Main and MYHabit have effectively solved this issue. I wish Pintrest would too. Half the time after all that effort and time waiting to get to the article, the article I was trying to read wasn't even relevant. It drives me completely crazy. I hate it. It's like 10 seconds to click on a link and see if it's what I need and then go back to click on another link if it's not associated with Pintrest.
Here we go again
I think the rave reviews are written by pinterest employees. I like how Apple deleted most of my comments from before. The new "feed" is HORRIBLE! (Aug 2015). I want to see the stuff I pin so I can confirm I pinned it. That's gone. The stuff I pin doesn't appear on my feed. What the hell is that! Instead they force me to look at lame advertising. They have no clue what I like or what I'm looking for. What I am NOT looking for is what they're wanting to force on me. So I have been using it far less. What's the point if I can't see what I pin without a convoluted search through the boards. Screw you!
Just when some glitches seem to have been minimally addressed the latest update makes huge changes, none of them good. The quick and easy to use search function has disappeared and has in its stead a "controlled search" where they steer you to things they want you to find instead of what you want to find. This is HORRIBLE! They seem bent on driving users away. They reduced my enjoyment of this ap over 50%. I know their motives are always nefarious but it's getting tiresome. I've turned off as much as I can in what they allow. It gets worse all the time. I'll be using it a lot less.
