Great app, just needs some details fixed to become amazing
I'm a heavy Photoshop / Wacom user and digital artist.
I'm generally really happy with this app, certainly the best one I've seen on an iPad..so it almost made me ditch Photoshop..
If they could fix only the following 2 things.. I actually would:
1. Needs shortcut buttons somewhere: Takes way too much time to switch between different actions (modes) ..for example: going into selection mode , then switching back to paint or eraser should be seamless...now I have to click in at least 7 places to do that.
2. If I make a selection ...why does the app link it to a certain layer..if I switch to another layer selection just disappears.
3. Quickly switching on/off for layers like eye icon in Photoshop layers ..really missing similar feature.
Otherwise great software. Congrats !
This a great drawing app with features Procreate doesn't even have.
Pixelmator seems on par with bringing some competition for Procreate, which is good for customers. Both of these apps are all I used for my digital drawing needs. There are a few features that really make not want to use this app:
1)There there's no redo button.
2)The Apple Pencil will not work if I don't chose one of my other Bluetooth styli first. 3)The UI is too complicated for smooth work flow (too many sub Windows to open to get to what tool user needs). In Procreate is most essential tools are right onscreen while drawing, or 1 tap away. 4) Unlike Procreate, it allows my palm to mark up the drawing space while I draw with Apple Pencil.
Other than that, it's awesome. Keep up the great work PT Team.
Pixelmator
I am not a professional artist nor designer by any means but I do know how to use raster programs and I'm glad I found Pixelmator. While this isn't a photoshop replacement for professionals (or maybe it is), it certainly delivers in areas I care about. The desktop app is top notch as well. keep up the good work!
