Great idea, hard to use
Very great idea. Interface looks great. Missing basic functionality that would make it easier/faster to use. For instance, dragging a task to another day when defering. Click on the task area to create a new task. Keyboard shortcut to delete a task or note. Basically everything in this app requires a mouse and pretty much every single task is a right click making it a bit cumbersome and hard to add multiple tasks at a time and schedule things out.
Clicking calendar entries does not highlight them. At first I thought they were disabled, but I guess double clicking them opens up a preview of the entry with an edit button that lets you see more details/edit. Editing an item you have to specifically click OK. Can’t just type a task in, press enter or key combination to quickly save the task. Again, type, move mouse to button, click OK. I know it’s only 2 steps, but most of us have more than 1 task to enter at a time for a day.
Minus the ease of use, the app is a great idea/start. Unfortunately, I am not going to use it; this app is designed to simplify a day and to save time, but I find myself spending more time using the app then just writing things down on paper.
Best one out there!
I’ve had this for a week now and this has been the best find for me…Best app I’ve ever purchased! sync my ipad and iphone with no problems at all. Customer service has been great, always getting back to me within 24 hours. If you are a paper planner person(I’ve used FC for years) and have been trying to find an electronic solution, this is it! I’ve tried them all so save your money and go with this one. I believe there is a lite version for IOS so you can play with that first.
Overall the usability is excellent, very little customization is available but that’s a good thing. My ADD/Anal side will want to tweek this til the sun comes up so keeping it simple and using it within the framework of the design is what I needed. This isn’t Microsoft or Apple where they can Beta test the product before launching, so we the users must give feeback so if you buy it, give the developers your feedback. Especially if there are bugs or annoying design features.
At any rate I have been so happy to have found this app. Best of luck to you planners out there!
Tried emailing the company first as requested above, but kept getting “delivery fail notifications” so I figured I would post my email/complaint here:
"I am growing disappointed in your PlannerPlus for Mac desktop app. I regret spending so much money on this because the iCalendar is more user-friendly. I should be able to easily copy and paste events, but there is no way to do this without setting up a repeating schedule which isn’t always appropriate for my schedule. In addition it does not always save changes I’ve made or repeatedly creates an event from, say, 7a-7p when I have repeatedly put the end time as 5pm. I cannot trust that the schedule I look at is going to be accurate with triple checking after each even is created. And even minutes after the event is created it will randomly disappear. What the heck?! For $20 there should be more fluid functioning. I have tried quitting and restarting the app several times, but it is always the same problems. I dare not delete the app and reinstall it because I tried that too and lost everything. Please correct these bugs and inconveniences ASAP or out of respect for future customers I will have to post this review to warn them."
