Worth keeping an eye on
If you loved the first Plants vs Zombies, you may be a little taken back at seeing some of your loved plants under a pay-wall now. You won't be able to finish an entire "world" without either spending a significant amount of time or money leveling up your plants (or unlocking strategic ones) to get stronger, but it may have improved recently. I'll be giving it a shot again since it seems they may have improved the ability to level your plants at a decent pace, but it could be a useless bandaid. Apologies to the developers for being so critical, but I've never been the biggest fan of the trend in mobile games and excessive microtransactions. The idea of purchasing in-game plants separately ranging from $3-$9 for entertainment and progression doesn't feel anything but greedy- but I suppose we are talking about EA here.
End game much improved but we should be allowed to watch more gem ads.
Daily piñata are really great plus making more plants available with gems + some gem quests. I really wish I could watch more gem ads per day but they are limited so you can only watch ads for coins. It's already going to take so many gems to level all the plants why not let us watch more ads for them instead of all the coin ads. Finally the plant level cap was removed. The attack animation of the leveled plants changed now I bet that was the only reason there was a cap. My guess is they were drawing the new attack animations for all the plants but that's just a guess. I don't mind the really hard levels now that the level cap was removed. It turns a negative into a positive.
Needs bug fixes after newest update
I tried deleting the app and re-downloading it, because sometimes that works, but not this time. I lost my ability to do the piñata tracker, lost my progress on the epic quests available, the app still keeps crashing, and many of my upgrading plants have lost some of their progress and now have to wait for some reason to upgrade them more. This is getting ridiculous. So upset right now!
Newest update really messed up the game. The game keeps crashing every few minutes. And when doing the epic quest it keeps telling me I didn't beat levels even though I completed 2 levels past that one.
Maybe it's the new apple update that's causing instability, but it keeps crashing every 30 seconds or less. I even try opening the game and it crashes. Hope it gets fixed soon.
