COLLECT YOUR HEROES
Discover 20 unique plant and zombie heroes, unlock their lawn-inspiring super powers, and choose your favorites based on their signature styles and abilities. Will you pick plants and deploy the masked, sharp-shooting avenger Green Shadow? Or will you choose a zombie hero, like the superbly superficial Super Brainz? Each hero’s unique selection of super powers helps define your team’s winning strategy.
GROW YOUR TEAM
Every hero needs a crew. Build yours and diversify your skills by collecting or crafting hundreds of cards – from the PvZ characters you know and love, to daring original plants and zombies. Devise distinct strategies when you select cards compatible with your hero, and experiment with devastating combos. Use the Deck Builder to quickly construct winning decks, try out strategies, and upgrade your decks as you collect and craft characters.
BATTLE FRIENDS AND FOES
Test your deck when you take on other players or challenge your friends in exciting real-time matches. Practice tactics in casual multiplayer battles or enter competitive ranked play to compete with the best players in the world. Earn rewards for defeating the bite-iest adversaries, and build your bank when you complete Quests from Crazy Dave and Dr. Zomboss.

Pay to win
Realizing now how pay-to-win this game is since having to start over... don't see any way to earn sparks other than by completing hero quests or recycling for very few. Can't get necessary cards without sparks unless by miraculous chance when buying packs. And ads for 5 gems!?? Those who have been playing longer have unfair advantage since they got 10 gems per ad and could use gems to buy multipacks of cards with guaranteed legendaries. All changes seem to make the game worse and more of a rip off. There is too much luck and not enough strategy because the playing field is so unbalanced in favor of people dumb enough to waste money on video games. Wouldn't waste a dime on this subpar game, especially if it's going to the greedy developers. And moving up ranks is impossible because douche bags at level 50, who can go no higher and have every card (aka unfair advantage), continue to play ranked games and have no qualms about beating players twenty or more ranks lower. There is no way to win if you don't have past event cards and no way to get them! Oh, and never mind how many stars you just won't be awarded after winning due to glitches. This game blows.
PvZ Fan
I've been playing PvZ since I was in middle school; I'm now a freshman in college. I love the new ideas brought into this game but with the subtly of the characters they threw in from PvZ 2 (legendary cards [at least for zombies] are what were the Zombosses). Before the most recent update, it was easy to earn coins (which are no longer a thing; but I understand the idea of this) and to earn diamonds. With the recent update, however, when I go to play videos, I am now only rewarded 5 diamonds instead of 10. While this doesn't upset me greatly, it is extremely annoying to watch or interact with a 30 second clip, to only have the app lag after I complete the video and not be rewarded the diamonds! I've put in a decent hunk of my own money for this app because I love PvZ and this issue will not stop me from playing. Although, I'm really hoping the creators do something to fix this issue! I need more diamonds to unlock more heroes and cards!!!
Very addicting
I like PvZ and I like the lane based strategy fights. It's a good brainbending game on its own but the addition of all the PvZ themes really makes it that much more entertaining.
My one complaint is that recently the game gave less access to free gems by cutting the amount you get for watching adds. I'd liked that there was a way to get around fremium play but you still had to be devoted to farming the free gems daily which wasn't fast before they halved it. They also made it much harder to get rare or better cards by changing a bunch of lower quality cards to rare so the "at least one rare or better" guaranteed in each pack of cards has less of a chance of giving you what you want.
I still find it really cool that eventually you can get all the cards with the remaining free gems from videos (and I've found a bunch of great games from them too!!) and ability to craft cards with sparks if you are really patient and devoted unlike other games where it's either literally impossible or highly unlikely to be competitive without dropping tons of cash. Plus I've beating maxed level players will full premium decks with mostly uncommon cards because even the lowest rarity cards are very strong if you know how to play them.
