Play It Down
By Red Deluxe
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Play It Down is like three fun music and audio apps in one!
Auto-Old My Music
Pick a song from your library, use the Auto-Old slider to “age” your ears, and hear what your music sounds like to someone 5, 10, 20, even 30 years older than you!
The Ear Knob
Are your ears older than you are? Put your ears to The Ear Knob age test, and compare with friends to see who can hear the highest frequencies.
The Volume Zone
What’s louder, a live rock concert or an album on your iPod? Use this simple decibel meter to measure sound volume anywhere, anytime. Even measure the volume of your earbuds.
What's New in Version 1.3
Various tweaks to audio settings so the app performs ideally on each screen.
Play It Down
This is a very good app that allows users to test and somewhat diagnose their current state of hearing. The app provides all age groups for users to measure their hearing ability. Users can also use their own music to test hearing. The other main feature of this app is The Volume Zone which allows users to test the sound volume of all types of surroundings. The design is almost Apple like with classic colorful visuals of music device components which is a bit reminiscent of Apple's recent Podcasts app. This app provides a great smooth experience all around. It works as an educational tool and an entertainment one.
All three features are neat, but the ability to measure the db/volume level of music on your earbuds is really cool and unique. You don't listen to music for long periods through the app, but you can use it to have a better idea of what's too loud, what's safe, etc. and so you can better manage listening volume on your own.
Needs iPhone 5 Support
This app has great features, however I am disappointed that it does not have iPhone 5 support. It is mot crucial for the functionality, but it would be nice.
