Don't forget to update your camera app
So this just bit me. I've been using an OLD version of the app on the camera (a6300) and found that this update didn't work very well at all. Make sure you update the app on your camera too!!
Would love to see the light meter on the app at some point.
Nice try, but no new function on CX900
I appreciate that you've tried to add some basic functionality to this app as far as controlling my HDR-CX900 camcorder remotely. Unfortunately, while I see buttons, there are no labels on any except the shooting mode (which was there all along). Someone suggested updating camera software as well. There is no new update available for my camcorder (since 2015). Besides that, every time my phone connects to the wifi of the camcorder, the silly thing resets all of the settings to defaults, which makes the whole remote-control concept useless. Until you can fix that, you're just spinning your wheels.
Very poor, basically useless app
Sony, the huge entertainment conglomerate - and this is seriously what they can come up with? Really!?
All you can do on their newest video camcorder is basically hit Start and Stop. The rest is not worth mentioning.
What could be so hard about them providing a decent - and I'm not expecting professional, just consumer level - remote control of the camera's features? On a $1,000 consumer video camera.
The only answer I can come up with is that they don't care. I know they spend millions on focus groups and and market research, but it does not seem that ever makes it through to the product groups.
Lousy UI, effectively zero capability. A 15 year old kid can do better, you should fire your apps dev team now.
What an embarrassment, what a shame.
Sony, you really can't do better? Then you should just stop making this stuff and find something else. Seriously!
Camera is going back to seller. I'll buy a different brand that cares about what customers want.
