PlugPlayer for iPad
By PlugPlayer, LLC
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Finally, a simple way to use your existing UPnP™ software and devices from your Apple iPad. Introducing PlugPlayer, an application to stream music from UPnP™ media servers or control UPnP™ media renderers - all from the palm of your hand.
- Stream Music*, Video*, or Photos* from a Media Server* to your Apple iPad
Already have a media server running on your home computer or server? With PlugPlayer you can access music from your media server and listen to it on your iPad.
- Control PlugPlayer from another Apple iPad
Like listening to your iPod touch while it is docked to speakers, but hate having to physically walk over to change the playlist or volume? With PlugPlayer, you can use your iPad to remotely control another copy of PlugPlayer.
- Control a Media Renderer* from your Apple iPad
Already have a media renderer hooked up to your stereo? No need to fumble around looking for the right remote. With PlugPlayer you can control your media renderer using your iPad, creating a playlist from media on your media server.
- Push media from your Apple iPad
Use PlugPlayer to push media from the built-in server, or from external servers, to Media Renderers or AirPlay compatible devices such as Apple TV.
- No Additional Software or Configuration Required
Other solutions require proprietary software on your home computer, but PlugPlayer uses the media server you already have. Plus, PlugPlayer automatically discovers devices on your network without the need for manual configuration or settings.
- Advanced Features
Of course, should your device not be discoverable due to your network circumstances, there is also a way to manually add a device. With PlugPlayer's advanced device configuration, you can stream music and video from remote servers or even over VPN. You can even use PlugPlayer to help other media renderers discover your remote servers.

Bug Fixes and better support for iOS8
Try something else
We got this app to use as a control to listen to music files that were on both our PC and on a server. It wouldn't play more than one track at a time without having the program open when the track was over. If the iPad was closed or I was using another app when one track ended, it wouldn't play the next track until I rebooted it. It also froze my iPad a number of times, so I had to close it down completely, wait a while, then reboot. I truly regret spending money on this app and have removed it from my iPad. 5 bucks is 5 bucks. Don't waste your money.
Give my money back!
I understand I bought it for a price of cup of coffee. But indeed I'd rather have another cup of tasty cappuccino in stead of this outdated, faulty, non functional app. It just reminded me of bad old times when I worked on Windows 95 machine that was eating my nerves. It crashes all the time. It DOESN'T work. Stay away from this app, guys! Have a cup of coffee instead.
